I am about to purchase a movie for friends overseas and I have some other "buy" options including:
Fun with Science with Dr. Radium
Little Red Hot
Rumble Girls
Boz Chronicles issues
Faith
Midnight Mass
Doom Patrol ('88/'89, then '93)
and some Gold Key cartoon books from the '70s.
These are largely from the periods I didn't collect at all. Any suggestions?

If the Doom Patrol is Grant Morrison, then I'd recommend it if you're into trippy out there weirdness. I own all the trades from his run and it's one of my favorite series evah.

I really liked the Vertigo type books of the time, like SHADE from '94. I have most of THE INVISIBLES and imagine DP as a bit of a prototype of its elements. I found one or two back in the day for bargain box prices but that is probably just enough to get lost!

Doom Patrol was hit and miss for me, but interesting enough that I never gave up on it during Morrison's run.

I LOVED Shade for the first 30 issues or so. Enigma is my favorite from this period though.

Highly underrated and I hope that DC/Vertigo gives me a hardcover at some point.

I'll check out the softcover meanwhile if I run across a good deal, on that recommendation.

My friend wants a movie called OPTIONS and some of these comics I mentioned were offered. It has Matt Salinger, but as he pointed out, "at least I'm not asking you for CAPTAIN AMERICA!"

The Gold Key Donald/ nephews comics might even be worthwhile. Don't have many but have enjoyed the Ducks along the way.
