Bad Company featuring original members Paul Rodgers (ex-QUEEN + PR, FREE, THE FIRM), Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke, have announced the following North American tour dates:

July
16 - Fantasy Springs Casino - Indio, CA
17 - Orange County Fair - Costa Mesa, CA
22 - The Lakeland Center Jenkins Arena - Lakeland, FL
23 - St. Augustine Amphitheater - St. Augustine, FL
25 - Chastain Park Amphitheater - Atlanta, GA
27 - Bank Of America Pavilion - Boston, MA
30 - Choctaw Resort Casino Event Center - Durant, OK

August
1 - Outlaw Jam, Frederick County Fairgrounds - Frederick, MD
4 - Casino Rama Entertainment Center - Rama, ON (Toronto)
14 - Bike Rally - Port Dover, ON

October
4 - Potawatomi Casino - Milwaukee, WI
5 - Potawatomi Casino - Milwaukee, WI
7 - The Joint/Hard Rock Hotel & Casino - Catoosa, OK (Tulsa)

I'll be seeing Paul Rodgers for free on the 4th of July, but I'd rather see Bad Company. However, they were here in AC last 4th and charged an insane amount of money and I didn't go.
With the dying touring industry, they won't get away with $85-$125 tickets this time!

The Atlantic City show was realy good last year.....it was a very costly, but fun weekend.

Boston to Oklahoma to Maryland in 5 days? Ouch!

Abbey Road Live will be recording all the BAD COMPANY shows on the US leg of their reunion tour with singer Paul Rodgers (ex-FREE/THE FIRM) and making the recordings available immediately after each show.

According to a press release, "these are limited-edition, collectible CDs that will sell out fast. They are fully mixed and mastered, not to be confused with a 'sound board' feed. The quality is amazing!"

The good news is that they are on pre-sale as of now at this link: Abbeyroadliveus.com.

Go there now to reserve your copy to pick up at the show, or to have it sent home to you.

Have a good time man. Bad Co rule. I might get one of these if they're reasonably priced (I doubt it) and actually mastered as opposed to a board feed untouched.

We only rib Paul Rodgers when he's singing in other people's bands.

I'm glad that Queen broke free of Paul Rodgers...or vice versa.

I don't. The man is my favorite singer ever. He has the best Rock voice in the world IMO. And as odd as it was, the Queen + PR show was pretty damn good and I'm glad I saw it.
I'm more glad he's back where he belongs with Bad Company.
This Paul Rodgers bashing is also a little odd. Aside from Free and Bad Company both of which he helped form, and his solo career, he did the Queen thing which was admittedly not for everyone and the studio album was putrid (plenty of vinyl copies avilable at Best Buy!).
He also did The Firm and The Law both of which he also formed. So, where's this other people's bands thing coming from??? Every band other than Queen + PR he formed-is he supposed to not join a band he put together?

I love Bad Company and Free and wish that they would actually come out to Califonria. What's the deal with these bands avoiding the west coast major cities?

Just be glad you're not in Hawaii - hardly anyone plays here.

Unless something has changed over the years, one of the issues with bad Co is that Mick Ralphs is terrified of flying. The story is that's a big part of why he left Mott.

Another issue is that Ralphs has a hard time playing the songs these days. Howard Leese is doing the lions share of the guitar work, but Rodgers knows that having Ralphs out there is the only way he can call it the "original" group.

Makes sense; Ralphs wasn't all that good at the Mott reunion. Is it health or drugs?

Bad Company wouldn't be Bad Company without all three (Rodgers, Ralphs and Kirke) particularly since the passing of Boz. Kirke and Rodgers have played together since Free and have a natural affinity for each other and although I've never felt that Ralphs was a particularly great guitar player, he is a strong songwriter and can play the riffs.

Regarding Ralphs, have you ever listened to Mott, especially the Dudes & Mott albums? I like Ralphs a lot with Mott; the guitar on All The Way From Memphis is beyond cool. Imo, replacing Ralphs with Luther Grosvenor really damaged the otherwise superb Hoople album.

I am a huge Mott fan but I never liked the HOOPLE album that much. Something about it always seemed off to me in comparison to the brilliance of the MOTT or ALL THE YOUNG DUDES albums.

Then I read the MOTT biography by Campbell Devine and it all made sense. According to that book, Ariel Bender (aka Luther Grosvenor) just could not write guitar parts for the songs, unlike Ralphs who not only wrote whole songs but wrote solos/riffs/etc for other songs. So to make up Ariel's lack of creativity, they ruined the album with too much keyboards, overblown horns and backup singers, which is exactly why I don't like it. Mott went from being a guitar driven rock band to a band with little or no guitar, and too much horns and piano. Also, some of the songs on that album are just - weak.

That makes sense. The phrase that's always come to mind for me regarding Grosvenor's playing is it sounds campy, like it belongs in a comic book (no insult intended to those upstairs). Just think what that album would have been with Ralphs or Mick Ronson.
