Curious if the DVD will be a documentary or the actual reunion concert at the Troubadour. I'd imagine it's the former, only because it would be odd to release the full concert before the tour starts, allowing people to pay $20 for the DVD or ten times that for a ticket!
Too bad it's not a 2-CDset, though; I have to think the Troubadour show went on for longer than 80 minutes. (If it didn't, I certainly hope the upcoming tour does!)

Since the new trek is entitled "The Troubadour Tour," you'd think they'd recreate a week-long stint at the Troub instead of playing the Hollywood Bowl here in L.A.

I saw an "Advance Promo" of this and on the cover-card, (no booklets on those types of early releases) it read, "2CD/DVD" set accross the front, in a round "sticker-type" look. I asked the manager if that copy came with the DVD and he said it did not. So I didn't get it. Wanted the whole set and the book.
Maybe the songs are broken into 2 cd's for some reason? Not sure, but I wanted to pass this bit of info on. And the other even bigger suprise was that there was a promo for it in the first place; especially since the promo market has all but dried up. (Except the worthless Rap segment and you can get those in promos all day. LOL)(sorry for the bad joke to those who like rap-no offense)
I will be looking for a complete set though as these two are great together. Just wished I could go see them. Only 5 minutes from home but not enough cash. Gotta pay for the music habit first.

Just read a long 5 page article on the current tour on Billboard online news. In it, James says that a DVD of the tour will probably be released. Which would be most good. The Troubadour CD/DVD is only about 90 minutes long, supposedly their shows from the tour approach 3 hours in length. James does his greatest hits, Carole does most of Tapestry plus a few greatest hits. I saw a few set lists online, they have been performing Long Ago And Far Away, and Song Of Long Ago, 2 of my faves. I wish I coulda gone to see them, but the DVD if it comes out will do the trick, too:

I just saw them in Las Vegas. James was excellent as expected. I like King but she was a little rough that night. Still, a lot of energy in the show and they seemed to be enjoying themselves. I recorded about 5 audio tracks on my iPhone but have no way to figure out how to convert them to a form that could be further duplicated.

Carole & James are on PBS tonight Monday 8-2-10, 9 p.m. in the eastern time zone (well, at least in Richmond). I suspect this is the Troubadour DVD show, or parts of it, and possibly interrupted by pledge breaks. Isle bee wah ching...
