When Amalgam came out I thought it was a horrible idea and had my version od what I thought would be a cool inter-company idea.

The EXCELLENT Thing/JLA Two in One cover, in another thread, reminded me of the idea again. Where instead of the horrible mish mash they did, what would happen is the stories and creative teams would trade so one example is the JLA versus Galactus (same first appearance like in FF 50) drawn by John Buscema (Kirby was dead at the time). Batman versus Kingpin (Born Again) was another one.

For the JLA/Galactus I had some cool scenes laid out like Batman staring down Galactus with the Ultimate Nullifier (who GL got instead of the Torch). Silver Age Superman was in another galaxy when it starts but comes to the rescue taking out the Surfer and flying at light speed into Galactus, actually staggering him. The Flash disassembling the machine Galactus uses as fast as he can build it.

Any switches you would have liked to see?

Anything showing us the truism that Batman can indeed beat Galactus is fine by me.

The hardest thing for me was to put Marvel's characters in classic DC stories as I believe Marvel in the Silver Age had by far the more memorable stuff. Maybe a Crisis with the Golden Age Invaders but what else?

You could do a "Death of Phoenix" riff with the JLA or even the Teen Titans where Wonder Woman or Wonder Girl has to access some really powerful mythological artifact to defeat some Big Bad and the power consumes her and the Greek Gods step in to "remove" her before she destroys the Earth and the JLA or the Titans duke it out with them in order to save her and she sacrifices herself at the end.

Captain America Red, Captain America White, Captain America Blue.

"Now that there are three of us, one of us can lead the Avengers, another can focus on the Red Skull, and the third can serve as the President of the United States!"

Great idea but again, a Marvel story done with DC characters. The reverse is hard to find.
