Why does he want to keep the masses ignorant, I wonder? Why does he seek to withhold from them the power to expand their knowledge of the world around them? What does he fear from their quest for betterment?

I Jacob P Secrest am a lover of literacy, I however am not a lover of those who shield themselves behind books!
But shielding yourself behind that book you are saying that you love yourself more than literacy and that if you were to be attacked you would rather the book be destroyed than you.
