I just saw it. What a GREAT movie!!! Pixar always understands it's about the story.

Shame on you for just now seeing it. One of their best, IMO. There's a great thread about here where you can see discussion about it.

There's also a million other Pixar threads where we obsessively rank our favorites.

There's also a bunch of other threads where Pixar creeps into the discussion and then takes over the thread.

I have Up ranked as my Pixar No. 2 overall, very close to number 1.

This is not including consideration of Toy Story 3, for which I'm still in a quivering heap of awe.

Ditto. Just saw it this evening. What an awesome film!

And last year's UP was just as good. As far as I'm concerned, Pixar has always connected. Even my least favorite, A BUG'S LIFE, is a very good family film.

I tried to do a search on UP as the title but it has a 4 character minimum. There is a great article in Wired magazine on what goes into a Pixar movie. I still prefer the Incredibles but Up is close. I enjoyed the Toy Stories but not in love with them. I am looking forward to the new one. I was one of the few people who didn't care for Ratatouille.

Bannings: Bannings? We don't need no stinkin' bannings!
I just hooked up a new satellite receiver and was testing it out and ran across the Incredibles...and ended up watching over half of it even though I have it on DVD and could pull it out any time I wanted. But...it was an endless stream of "Ooooo...and this next part is great, I'll watch that..."

Only a phone call saved me from watching the whole thing.

I do that all the time, Brotoro. Something I own, but I end up watching if it's on TV.

Whats amazing is I hear all this crap about kids and their attention spans, how they want cutting edge and the old stuff is too corny, and here comes Pixar with their wonderfully sweet old fashioned stories and kids are hooked.

I cannot stand watching movies on TV unless it's pay TV because the content editing drives me nuts.

Cracked recently did an article on various disorders which have improved mankind. ADHD was on the list, because the problem isn't that such people can't pay attention, it's that most things don't hold their attention. But when they find something, they can do amazing things.

Maybe that's it. With so many choices, they don't tolerate crap anymore.

Would that that were true with books. Then nobody would give Cecily von Ziegesar a second glance....
