I don't mean "funny," I mean comics...

I gave my son the one-volume edition of Bone. No doubt he'll love it ... if he can lift it! I really want a second copy for myself. One of my favorite epics ever, so I wanted to share it with him.

We also gave him an old classic: How To Draw Comics The Marvel Way. He's been drawing a lot of his own comics recently and says he'd like to do it for a living (Nooooooooooo!!), so I figure we could encourage him to get better.

For my wife and I, Absolute Sandman Vol. 1 was sort of a gift to ourselves.

Anyone else give the gift of comics?

Didn't give any, but my mom bought this for me.

Yes I do, she's been collecting comics since like the 70s or something, one of those decades, so she was familiar with BONE when I decided one day to pick up the first volume at the local library.

And damn, that all-in-one is HUGE.

Every year, on Christmas and their birthdays, my nieces get Disney digests. This year, I gave Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

My girlfriend got me an Avengers shirt from Wal-Mart, she said she saw it and it screamed "Robert", and Mark McConnell got me Modern Masters: Art Adams, and Mark McConnell got the DVD for the 1943 Batman Serials from me in our Secret Santa, slightly comic related.

I'm watching the 1943 Batman Serial now. Really awesome logo. No wasted time entering the movie either. Standard voiceover entry narration.

I gave my friends a bound volume of all my Sir Chuck and Fritz (the characters in my avatar) cartoons dating back nearly twenty-five years. Does that count?

I was in a book shop, flipping through a Watchmen hardcover, considering buying it to mom. But it eventually became a DVD-box with The Office (UK) instead.

By the way, a couple of years ago I got the Battle Chasers TPB to a friend who's into fantasy and RPG stuff. Afterwards he asked if there was more collections of the series. "Err, no..."

I gave sets of the first two FABLES trades to a few friends, and gave my 2.5 year old nephew the first AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Essentials (he loves the character, and uses it for a coloring book). My other nephew (the soon-to-be 12 year old) already has my old collection (since I converted everything to digital format, with his help), so I bought him a video game.

Yeah, Christina Aguilera. I was really close to cropping her head out for maximum 'ass', but decided against it.

That's awesome, Brian. I'd love to have that collection. The Far Side too.

I gave my pal Sugg a DC Direct Batman doll and the Chip Kidd book: The Golden Age of DC comics: 365 Days. I got the first Ultimates hardcover. I also put an Archie Digest in my daughter's stocking, my wife gave me a history of Marvel book, with a thingy attached to it which gives Stan Lee commentary.

I gave an Astoshing X-Men HC and the second volume of the Complete Peanuts.

Related items included a Superman Returns DVD and an Alex Ross t-shirt.
