Described as "an homage to vintage R&B," written by Sheryl with the production team Doyle Bramhall II and Justin Stanley.

The first single, "Summer Day," is streaming now at http://www.sherylcrow.com; you can also hear a clip from a second song, "Our Love is Fading." Both are absolutely outstanding. If they are indicative of the entire CD, it'll be quite a strong comeback from "Detours." And the cover pic is smokin' hot, too. Yowzah!

Maybe you are in need of a "comeback from "Detours."--but I'm not, I think Detours is the best work she's ever done and only hope her new one is on par with it.

No slam intended, James. Although I'm not a huge fan of "Detours," my comment was in reference to sales. According to Wikipedia, "Detours" is the only Sheryl Crow studio album that failed to reach platinum certification in the U.S., so I hope this one will be a big commercial success for her.

Although I don't care for Sheryl Crow, to go Platinum these days is next to impossible. If Detours went Gold that is a great accomplishment.
If this album even goes Gold that will be a shock. The R&B angle might rope in some extra sales, as well as the Fallon appearance during Stones week, but Platinum is a serious reach.
If she gets Platinum-good for her. I don't like her music but always respect anyone who's been going as long as she has with a loyal fan base. A long way from being a backing singer for Michael Jackson.

I agree! I didn't think Detours was a weak effort at all. It's quite good (but a tad overlong) and deserved more success.

that didn't happen with "detours", must not have sold enough to warrant a reissue with additional songs.

she has pulled that stunt in past however, a couple of times if i'm not mistaken.

I love the retro-styled album cover and Sheryl is looking hotter than ever.

Yeah. Great looking cover.

I too loved Detours and the supporting tour, which was a nice return to form after the disappointing Wildflowers. Really forward to this and seeing her live again. Nice single.

Hopefully the songs are better than those song titles!

Am I the only one who thinks that at first glance the cover looks like an "Essential" compilation?

I think I'm the only one who doesn't find her attractive, but I know Eric Clapton did.

And some say, Dylan. And of course, Lance Armstrong.

She's an L.A. 6.5 on looks alone, but her talent and sexy attitude raise her to a respectable L.A. 8.5. She's no Susanna Hoffs.

Damn, that doesn't even look like SC. Did she get a face lift? I don't mean that sarcastically, as I've always found Crow fairly attractive. But that girl's face doesn't look like SC to me at all. Are we sure that is SC?
