For those who celebrate (or those who don't).
I will be going to Florida to visit my family. It's been a rough couple of days for some of them, so it will be nice to see them and try and cheer them up. And just have fun. Games, movies, DVDs, food, maybe Disney. My mom has to work Christmas Eve and Day from 6 am to about 3, which has never happened before, but we'll make the best of it. Not really so bad actually. I remember holidays, like Christmas, when i was a kid where my dad had to work the whole day.
Merry Christmas to you all, Happy Holidays, and have a Happy and healthy New Year!

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays all. I am going to my grandfathers house for Christmas Eve, and my in-laws on Christmas Day. Both live 15 minutes or so from us, so it's a stay at home Christmas.

I'll spend Christmas at my parents and younger brothers. For New Years we'll all travel 5-6 hours to my older brothers apartment (if things goes according to plan, we'll be able to watch various DVDs on a laptop during the car ride)

Not traveling, except for the 15 minutes to my parents house and the 45 minutes to my in-laws house.
Merry Christmas, IMWAN.

I'll be heading down to the Houston area to visit my parents either Sunday afternoon or early Monday(it all depends on my mood).

Christmas Eve, we go to my sister's place (here in WANnipeg).
Christmas Day, my girlfriend's family comes over here.
Boxing Day (that's the Day After Christmas to you unwashed Yankees ), we are going to take in that grand Canadian Tradition of going shopping (pappy needs a new PS2).
New Year's Eve we are going to MTC to take in the Rocky Horror Show - I've never seen the stage play before, so this should be a hoot!!
New Year's Day we go to a friend-of-the-family's place.
Somewhere in the middle of all that I'm getting together with some of my friends for a festive holiday game of Arkham Horror or Munchkin or something

Just the 2 of us. (well and the cats)
We're going to watch the Lord of the Rings movies (the super-long director's special edition cuts) either Christman eve or Day, drink some vino, and chow down on this HUGE Swiss Colony sampler we got.*
Good times!
And whatever your opinion of the holiday season, whatever holiday you celebrate (even if it's just another Monday to you), have a great day! Have some fun! If you travel, be safe! Best wishes from me and the Mrs!
(* I'll explain in another thread)

My kids have expressed a desire to watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy over the holiday as well. I have all three of the extended cuts, however I've explained to them that we cannot enjoy these films because of the changes that were made. To enjoy the films is a betryal of JRR Tolkien. Instead, I'm going to read to them from the Silmarillion and the various indexes of LOTR. Yes, for 9 hours.
OK, so we're gonna watch 'em.

At my sister's house on Saturday, trying to relax on Sunday, then Christmas day, enjoying Michael's first Christmas and the "What in the world is all this stuff?" look on his face.
After that, a drive to St. Luke's cemetery to spend some time with Judy, and then a good cry.
Sorry for the downer, troops.

Not a downer, dude. It's cool.
I used to call my mother every New Year's Eve no matter where I was at or what I was doing. I can't now. I can dig it. Have as happy a one as you can and remember that a bunch of insane strangers love you very much.

I'm pretty sure that I'm getting that big Superman collector's DVD set, so that's what my family will be watching, whether they want to or not!

Sunday morning we all hop on a plane from WANchorage to Chicago, barring any weather delays. We'll spend two weeks hanging out at my dad's, visiting my wife's crazy family, and catching up with friends. Same thing we do every year. It ain't exciting, but it's our little slice of holiday heaven.
