As long as things weren't tampered with too much I'd be in for this. The band are involved with it, so I hope it's just mild tweaking. This thing was supposed to have bee out years ago!
Some of the previous remasters were too loud, but I still enjoyed them. I do love this band and even though all their videos are not present on the DVD, it's still a great bonus from the heyday of MTV.
Now where are the further tour dates since they did those 2 reunion gigs in 2008?

From ClassicRockMagazine.com:

Triumph are to have a CD/DVD titled Greatest Hits Remixed through the Frontiers label on May 17.The CD has 14 tracks remixed by Rich Chyki, with the following listing:

1.Allied Forces
2.Lay It On The Line
3.Follow Your Heart
4.Magic Power
5.I Live For The Weekend
6.Hold On
7.Just One Night
8.Fight The Good Fight
9.Spellbound
10.Never Surrender
11.When The Lights Go Down
12.Somebody’s Out There
13.Rock And Roll Machine
14.Love Hurts (previously unreleased, and set to be the first single)

The DVD includes footage of the trio – guitarist/vocalist Rik Emmett, bassist/keyboard player Mike Levine and drummer/vocalist Gil Moore – being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame two years ago. I also has the following video clips:

1.Follow Your Heart
2.Lay It On The Line
3.Spellbound
4.Magic Power
5.When The Lights Go Down
6.Hold On
7.Just One Night
8.Somebody’s Out There
9.Allied Forces
10.Never Surrender
11.Never Say Never

“We have been planning this release forever,” says Levine. “For years, Triumph fans have been demanding that we give them a fresh greatest hits package and they are going to love this one.”

From Anti-Music.com (You know, although this is a fully-authorized professional release, the title sounds like one of those bogus collections we always see pop up. Just a bad title-they could have at least tried for something better than Greatest Hits Remixed!):

Posted on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 15:32:57 EST

TRIUMPH bassist Mike Levine was interviewed by Mad Max of Italy's Rock N Roll Radio recently. During the interview Mike discusses the band's upcoming Greatest Hits Remixed album, and a possible tour in 2011.

Says Levine, "... we thought about going on the road last year, then the economy went really bad, and we went, 'you know what, let's just not bother right now'. So we're thinking maybe next year, next summer, we may go out. But there's no definite plan yet.. and there is no definite plan about any new material right now either."

Listen to the complete interview at this location.

Triumph legends Gil Moore and Mike Levine will guest on the US nationally syndicated radio show Rockline, with host Bob Coburn, on Wednesday, May 19th at 8:30 PM (PT) / 11:30 PM (ET). Fans are encouraged to speak with the band by calling 1-800-344-ROCK (7625).

For a station near you and for information regarding how to log onto the internet for the broadcast go to RocklineRadio.com.

Triumph are releasing in Europe on Frontiers Records the newest Greatest Hits compilation package on CD and DVD appropriately titled Greatest Hits Remixed.

The two-disc set, which will be in the shops on May 14th, includes a hit-laden 14 track CD, which was remixed by Rich Chycki (AEROSMITH, RUSH), giving the songs an incredible sonic wallop. A cover of the classic 'Love Hurts' (made famous by NAZARETH) sung by Moore will be the lead single.

The DVD features eleven promo and live videos in widescreen filmed over Triumph’s career, as well five bonus features, including 3 more unreleased videos ('Child Of The City', 'Blinding Light Show' and 'Love Hurts') and footage of Triumph’s induction into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame in 2008.

"We have been planning this release forever," says Mike Levine. "For years, Triumph fans have been demanding that we give them a fresh greatest hits package and they are going to love this one."

The six-panel digipak will also include a 20 pages full colour booklet, complete with liner notes, lyrics, credits and chock full of vintage photos and will most certainly be a hit with Triumph’s consistent legion of fans.

Triumph pushed the limits of Arena Rock to the max with their legendary live shows and virtuoso playing. Add to it some of the most recognizable and celebrated radio classics ('Lay It On The Line', 'Hold On', 'Fight The Good Fight' and 'Magic Power'), a vault full of gold and platinum sales awards for their ten studio albums and there you have one of the most successful rock acts of the 1970‘s/1980’s!

And now, fans both new and old will have the opportunity to discover/re-discover Triumph, with the all killer/no filler Greatest Hits Remixed.

What a mess. I generally dislike remixes, but man is this awful. The drums sound like total shit. Gated, distorted, echoplexed beyond belief. The toms, the snare-it's pitiful. What was the band thinking?
And the guy who did the mixes Richard Chycki did such a good job on the 2 Rush tracks on Retrospective III.
I'd appreciate it if any of our sonic experts could tell me what the debacle really entailed here. The DVD is the main reason I got it as I have all of the Triumph albums, but the CD should not have been a sonic crapfest.
My favorite Triumph song "Lay It On The Line" sounds especially horrendous, so if someone could show me the dreaded soundwaves (it sounds compressed as well) and what wa done to the drums I'd appreciate a comparison of the 1979 original, the remaster from 2002 Ithink it was and the 2010 disgrace.
Any help would be appreciated, plus maybe I'm wrong and this is sonic brilliance (I doubt it).

I bought this, and I was horrified by the remixes. Oh well, I guess the DVD is worth having. Hopefully there's no remixing afoot on the DVD!

Kym:
Just dreadful man, dreadful. It's so bad I can't even remotely enjoy it in the least. The drums are terrible sounding. Reminds me of the ZZ Top 6 Pack debacle.
I haven't watched the DVD yet either, but I hope it's good. It's missing a lot of music videos, but it's still a nice collection. But oh, those remixes!
