I seriously think it's about time somebody made a Spider Woman movie! There's already a Spider Man series...so why not Spider Woman! I think it would make a great franchise and I'm trying to think of who should play the starring role.

Anybody got any ideas on who should star?

I actually think Megan Fox looks the part here. Whether she can bring charm to the role, I don't know. But looks wise, she's close.

As long as the movie didn't require her to actually, you know, act, I could see it.

The Spider-Woman character was never a high priority one for Marvel.

In fact, the only reason that Spider-Woman and She-Hulk were created so that Marvel could claim copyright to the characters. In the late seventies, there were Hulk and Spider-Man TV series and Marvel feared the show's producers would come up with female versions of them and usurp their claim to copyright.

Although the She-Hulk character has fared better over the years, IMO.

Francine, you haven't seen the rest of the movie. It's pretty bad.

The villains are cheesy and while Helen Slater is a decent actress, she's not given much to work with. The character's too "girly" and doesn't really kick butt like the modern heroines do. Even Slater herself has said she'd like to see a modern version with a better realized character.

Oh...too bad. It looked ok from what I saw.The problem with people making movies about other people from faraway Galaxy's is that they're not themselves from faraway Galaxy's...so they have no clue. But if the movies really cheesy then I guess I'll pass.

It's not a terrible movie, just typical of the attitude Hollywood had towards women and super heroines back then.

It's basically a poor-man's Superman and sadly, not much else.

Ok, but I think somebody should make a really good Spider Woman movie!

Okay, despite the awesome-that-is-Helen-Slater and the fact that this scene includes Max Headroom, this scene is nine kinds of fail... Personally, if I saw a woman wearing a variation of Superman's outfit use her breath to send my colleague flying through an otherwise sturdy fence, I'd either be running or profusely apologizing.
