No details-and this is the UK date for EMI. Just a heads up as I'm sure this will get a US date around the same time. I'd guess it will be another live disc as Disc 2?

Details added by Linda — the domestic release will be on July 13th, and the bonus disc features demo versions:

Product Description
Originally released in 1985, R.E.M.'s 3rd album Fables of The Reconstruction peaked at #28 on the Billboard charts and spawned two hit singles, "Can't Get There From Here" and "Driver 8." Breaking with their tradition of recording in Athens GA, the band recorded in England with producer Joe Boyd.

This 25th Anniversary Edition features the classic album digitally remastered. The bonus disc is a complete run thorugh of the album done in studio in Athens, before the band left for London for the actual recording sessions. These demos have never before been released and feature three additional tracks, not on the final album, including "Throw Those Trolls Away," a song the band has never released.

The albums are packaged in a lift top box and include a poster and 4 postcards, as well as the CD booklet.

I was just thinking about this release and when it would be out....thanks Ip.

Originally I was thinking a live disc, then a b-sides dics for alternating deluxe editions. But we've had 2 "live" bonus discs in a row now. Will they just make the "dead letter office" deluxe edition, 2 full discs of b-sides from the early era maybe?

Here's a vote for a live disc. I love these sets! But not as much as I love IP's new avatar. :)

A man of good taste I see. I scored a box of Quisp on Easter as my Mom got me a box as a humorous little gift. Very hard to find down here, yet it remains delicious.
My avatar is pretty cool, but yours has some positive attributes as well!
As for the R.E.M. I'd prefer b-sides, but another live disc would be fine. I really look forward to Life's Rich Paegant.

I like the live stuff, but they had better do b-sides/outtakes when they get up to Dead Letter Office because there are so many great ones.

I love the live shows because they provide a look at what the band was doing on stage at the time. I love following the live evolution of any great band.

I haven't had Quisp in over ten years, but it's my favorite cereal. I'll have to go online to find some. And I'm glad you like my avatar IP. I found it while searching for a picture of my next guitar: a surf green strat. The strat in this picture isn't the right color, but I'm willing to make sacrifices for the common good. :)

I'm usually not a fan of demos, but since I've had some issues about the production on this album, I'm interested in these.

I'm excited that this series is still going, but a lift-top box? Please tell me it will fit in the rack with the rest of the deluxe editions.

Bannings: I'm a nice guy who just likes music.
I was really hoping for a live disc from the "Fables." tour. M.

Thanks Linda. I'm pretty sure this won't fit nicely in the rack next to the deluxe Murmur and Reckoning.
