I was at the LCS picking up my stack and remembered
an article (SPOILERS, btw) mentioning how this one story had one of the "top ten" coolest Iron Man moments ever, so I picked it up on a whim.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/0785125574/?tag=imwan-20Ignore the weak cover, since that's not what the art looks like for this story (the cover is from the Annual included in the back of the trade). It looks closer to Steve Epting's Captain America style and the story reads similarly in tone and style to those Brubaker issues as well. Very Jason Bourne/Black Ops vibe here.
And before World's Most Wanted, it comes up with a much more plausible and believable reason for Iron Man to don the classic suits of years past.

Anyway, I thought it was really, really great and, IMO, would appeal to both the old school fan and the modern, "hip" fan as well (provided you can get over the fact that Stark is head of SHIELD and this takes place in the aftermath of Civil War). It's classic Iron Man but also modern Iron Man all at once-- Stark is completely heroic but his character is layered and interesting.
Personally, I'd put this over the Fraction run and am wondering why this didn't get all the hype and press his run is.
RECOMMENDED!
