1976 - Paul McCartney and Wings The song Magneto & Titanium Man appeared on the 1975 album Venus & Mars by the band Wings - former Beatle Paul McCARTNEY's group with his wife Linda and others. While on the subsequent Wings Over America leg of their Wings Over the World tour, they performed three shows at the Los Angeles Forum in Inglewood, California. Brothers Steve and Gary SHERMAN arranged for Jack KIRBY to meet the band backstage, where Kirby presented McCartney with this 14" by 17" pencil drawing. McCartney dedicated that night's performance of the song to Kirby, who, along with wife Roz, daughter Lisa and the Sherman brothers, were given complimentary nearly-front row tickets.
Not only was the concert filmed and portions used in concert movie "Rockshow" and the television special "Wings Over The World", but an audience audio recording exists where Kirby is introduced.
In "Rockshow", Wings member Denny LAINE introduced the song and he's heard saying, "Where are ya, Jack? Rock it!" while not on screen. This is possibly due to the introduction from a Seattle, WA, USA show being used, while the performance was from the show Kirby attended. The reference to "Jack" may be where the LA performance is edited in.
Pencil art by Jack KIRBY.
The art was sold in the 28 May 1993 issue of Goldmine Magazine. Paul & Linda McCartney meet Jack Kirby, known as the 'King of Comics'.from http://www.doclehman.wordpress.comIt’s no secret the Beatles were, and are, comic book fans. Remember that spread of vintage Golden Age Superman comic books spread across the front of the piano that Paul was playing on in the hotel scene in the film HELP!? And during the 60’s Stan Lee would occasionally namedrop the Beatles in his monthly columns. But one night n 1976 comic book collector Paul McCartney met one of his favorite comic book creators, artist-writer Jack Kirby. The song Magneto & Titanium Man was on Sir Paul’s 1975 release as Wings, Venus & Mars. Both, of course, are bad guys in various Marvel comic books. And Jack Kirby is perhaps the greatest comic book creator….ever!
During Wings’ Wings Over America tour in ’76 the band was slated for three nights at the Los Angeles Forum and Kirby associates Steve & Gary Sherman set up a meeting backstage between Sir Paul and ‘King’ Kirby. Kirby gave Sir Paul & Linda a 14” x 17” pencil drawing featuring Magneto and the band. (Visit THIS website to see drawing.) During the concert Kirby and his family and associates sat near the front row and during the band’s performance of Magneto & Titanium Man McCartney dedicated the song to Kirby.

Awesome!
During the same era, McCartney had an idea for a movie about a rock band being replaced by alien impostors. He approached Isaac Asimov to write a treatment; Asimov did, but nothing came of it. (Documented in Asimov's autobiography.)

(Documented in Asimov's autobiography.) Funny, cause there are some forums where people believe exactly that. They think Paul is dead and has been replaced by an evil, shape-shifting Reptilian in disguise.

It goes a long way towards explaining Press To Play! What an awful CD that is! On a happier note: Chaos And Creation In The Backyard is a great CD. His best in years! I love Friends To Go off that. There's a Sessions With AOL online version of it that's really good. The musicians who played on that with him for the first time are now part of his permanent touring band.

(Documented in Asimov's autobiography.) Funny, cause there are some forums where people believe exactly that. They think Paul is dead and has been replaced by an evil, shape-shifting Republican in disguise. That IS scary! Sadly, there are some conspiracy forums that accuse Paul and the Beatles of some terrible things. Like being involved with the Illuminati and also being personally responsible for the deaths of several Beatles friends including Tara Brown. Some claim ALL the Beatles were replaced and that govt informants (Disinformation Agents) post on their forums to try and discredit their "Full legal evidence". Most of which amounts to posting terrible photo comparisons of Paul in 1966 and then again in 2010.They claim he looks different because he's an imposter. The fact that Paul might've aged over 40 + years is something that never occurs to them. Btw, one poster claims to live near Sir Paul's home and talked of going to his house to collect DNA evidence from him house "to prove he's not the real Paul". The scariest memeber on the PID (Paul Is Dead) forums was a guy named Crazy Joe. He claimed the sky was made of glass and that the world was about to end. Except in the Greater Chicago Area. He then tried to recruit people - some of who are teens - from the forum to come live with him where they'd be "safe". You probably know about Crazy Joe..he was booted off all PID forums (Banned). He ended up later on another forum where he asked people to help him get to Washington where he was planning to assassinate the President. I'm not joking. It was a big news item a while ago. Basically, many PIDers are delusional and in some cases, downright mentally ill.
