Remember Dr. Alban? Did he bother the American top 40 chart?

from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sing_Hallelujah

"Sing Hallelujah" is a 1992 song recorded by the Sweden-based musician and producer Dr. Alban. It was the third single from his second studio album One Love. The song was released in 1993 and became a great hit reaching the top 10 in almost all European countries and managing #16 in the UK Singles Chart. After "It's My Life", this was the second Dr Alban's hit which had an international scope.

The song is a "discothèques anthem with dance and disco sonorities"[1].

"Sing Hallelujah" had other successes in the 2000s because it was re-recorded by the artist himself in new versions.

Huh - I thought this was going to be the answer to the question "What is the most cliched thing you can do in music today?"
