Oasis are to release a singles collection named 'Time Flies' on June 14.
All of the band's singles released in the UK during their 15-year career – aside from 2000's 'Sunday Morning Call' – are featured on the 26-track compilation.
A deluxe version of the compilation, featuring the band's music videos plus footage of their gig at the London Roundhouse on July 21 last year, will also be released.
I didn't even see the deluxe edition w/ DVD of videos and live performances-so I do need it. This is a great comp, certainly better than the confusing Stop The Clocks.

I'm irritated by this tracklist.... confining selection criteria to UK singles = no "Champagne Supernova"; so this won't be an adequate replacement for Stop The Clocks in my collection; and because all the tracks that are included on here as well as Stop The Clocks are scattered in between the ones that aren't, it won't be a good companion collection to Stop The Clocks.

This is for all the singles in the UK, so obviously, no "Champagne Supernova". Stop The Clocks was just a haphazard collection of songs that was widely critcized when it came out by many fans. Even the brothers themselves questioned why they did it they way the did. I thought it was OK, but made little sense and totally ignored portions of their career. This new comp goes through everything it should-I don't see what the problem is, and seeing as I have every album it doesn't matter anyway! This is he exact opposite of Stop The Clocks, so if you enjoy comps I'd think having both would be great. I just hope the deluxe edition comes out in the States-I have most of their videos but not all of them.

Play.com has a 3cd set, my understanding was the live set was only on the dvd with the promo videos, of course all of this could change before release date. I am getting this just to complete my collection, yes I am mad fer it!
This really looks like a fantastic package-I just hope it doesn't cost a fortune here in the States if it doesn't come out here (though I hope and think it will). Seems to be starting on sale at 13.99 lbs for the 3CD/ 1DVD set. For clarity's sake, the actual title is "Time Flies: 1994-2009".
3 CDs and DVD comes in wallets in a clampshell box with booklet. DVD: DVD featuring all the UK promo videos with track by track audio commentary by the band, plus previously unreleased International videos.
These are the 3 CDs:

This DOES look great! I saw them on their last American tour. I was interested to see that you are such a big fan, IP. I guess I figured since you don't care much for the Beatles that Oasis wouldn't be your cup o' tea either. Color me happily surprised!

Yeah, I am such a huge fan of theirs, although that didn't really start until the 2000's. I absolutely hear The Beatles in there, but more The Who, The Kinks, The Animals-that kinda stuff. Even though I'm not a big Beatles fan, I can acknowledge their importance and have no problems at all listening to anybody influenced by them. But, I just think Oasis are the total essence of what Rock is all about. I saw them in '08 as well, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen! I was just watching a pro-shot show from Argentina in May 2009 (one of their last shows as it turns out) I got in a trade and it was as awesome as the show I saw-the crowd sang every single word! I will snap this up immediately.

There have been so many iconic gigs throughout the history of Oasis. From Maine Road, Wembley Stadium (both new and old!), Madison Square Gardens to River Plate Stadium in Argentina, to name a very small handful.
But we think most people will agree that the most iconic of them all was their record-breaking weekend at Knebworth. 2.5 million people applied for the available 250,000 tickets for those two sunny days back in August 1996 .
So it’s fitting that the front cover of the sleeve for the upcoming singles collection ‘Time Flies… 1994-2009′ features a stellar shot of you the fans from those historic gigs at Knebworth.
Oasis hit at a time when American and British tastes diverged and they never had the impact here they did in the UK. As a longtime Anglophile (starting with the Beatles on Ed Sullivan when I was young and impressionable), I really wanted to like Oasis, but while I thought they were decent and did buy some of their stuff, I never found them exceptional in any way. And frankly, some of their lyrics were beyond silly. I actually preferred Blur (now that will start a fight).

It won't start one with me. I could have written the same post.
I've loved a couple of Oasis tracks like "All Around The World" and "Wonderwall" but all in all I think Blur have been a more interesting band to follow ... well, musically at least!.
A compilation with clearly defined terms of reference, this looks an ideal set to have alongside the studio albums.
I agree-this is almost perfect and even though I own all the albums (I will now get rid of Stop The Clocks), this a great comp and the DVD and live CD are a fantastic bonus.

A more reasonable view would be that both bands are decent (but neither are top tier exceptional--except to their rabid fans).
Well, if my thinking Oasis is great isn't reasonable, sorry. I hate Blur and I love Oasis. You say it's the wrong equation, is that reasonable? You say that neither are top tier-according to who? There's no facts here-just opinion. If you like Blur and dislike Oasis, that's fine by me-no problems there. It's just that I love Oasis and I really dislike Blur, so that's my point of view. I could care less about the Blur-Oasis rivalry, I never understood that especially as Blur were an older band.

Not unreasonable at all. You are a rabid Oasis fan. Perfectly understandable. We all like some groups that others can't abide. But for most non-rabid fans, reasonably, they are a decent band at best.
