From Blabbermouth.net http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... mID=137652Planet Rock reports that legendary rocker Alice Cooper has revealed that he has started work on a brand new studio album — the follow-up to 2008's "Along Came A Spider". Speaking on his radio show, "Nights With Alice Cooper", Alice said, "(Our new album) hasn't been recorded yet but we've got ten demos done already on it. I think it's gonna be called 'The Night Shift'." For the first time ever, the Gruesome Twosome — ALICE COOPER and ROB ZOMBIE — will play an exclusive limited run of North American tour dates in April and May. Alice is playing in North America until July when he heads to Europe to play a few Sonisphere festivals, including the U.K. leg, which takes place on the weekend of 30 July 30 - August 2.

Can't wait. "...Spider" didn't get as many spins (har) around the house as "Eyes..." and "Dirty Diamonds", but I'm always happy to see him cranking out some new material, rather than just keep touring on his oldies.
If only he'd write some stuff one more time with Dick Wagner (before Dick has another heart attack...)

I know that there can never be a full reunion of the original Alice Cooper Group, but why not get together with the other surviving band members and have Dick Wagner as the second guitarist? Hell, Wagner was doing that on the studio albums even when Buxton was still in the band, so why not?

Bob Ezrin is back as producer!! http://www.fearnet.com/news/b19179_a..._ezrin_on.htmlAlice Cooper Re-teams with Bob Ezrin on New Album by Gregory Burkart May 25, 2010
One of music's most esteemed producers will enter the studio with shock-rock god Alice Cooper for the first time in over a quarter-century to work on the Coop’s upcoming album.
It's great news to fans of immortal records like 'Welcome to my Nightmare', 'School's Out', 'Love It to Death' and 'Billion Dollar Babies' – all of which were created with Bob Ezrin at the boards – and the latest collaboration is reportedly just one of many projects coming out of a joint venture between the two music titans.
“Our whole company is over the moon about this collaboration,” the producer announced, referring to the outfit Bigger Picture, a joint venture between Ezrin, Cooper and manager Shep Gordon – the latter of which recently helped orchestrate the “Gruesome Twosome” tour with Cooper and Rob Zombie, and whose Alive Enterprises helped finance John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness (which featured Alice in a small role) and Village of the Damned.
“It's a reunion with the first artist I ever produced and the first great manager I ever worked with. I couldn't be happier.”
According to a recent article on Blabbermouth, Bigger Picture will have a hand in Cooper's upcoming output across a variety of different media – including Alice's upcoming concept album 'The Night Shift', on which Ezrin will take the helm as producer.
Bob's legendary status comes from his celebrated work with artists like Pink Floyd, Kiss, Lou Reed, Nine Inch Nails and many more – but his roots go way back to those early Cooper classics.
“It feels great to be working with Bob again,” Alice commented. “Lightning has struck more than once in the past with Bob's involvement, so we feel great that we're onto something really electrifying now that we're together again.
The album we're crafting is, in some ways, a 'shriekquel' to what's gone before and there's no better guy to oversee things than Bob.”

I'm pretty sure Michael Bruce wrote or co-wrote most of the classic Cooper hits from the original band.
But Dick Wagner co-wrote from 1975 until 1978 or so and played guitar. He was also a ghost guitarist for Glen Buxton around the Billion Dollar Babies era, so he could fill in for Buxton if the original Cooper group reunited.

I have watched nary a second of American Idol (I didn't even know it was still going this season-when the hell does it end???), but this is scary in so many ways. From Anti-Music.com:
Alice Cooper news site SickThingsSuk advises it's readers that everyone would be advised to check out the 'American Idol' finale that airs in the USA to night at 8PM. You may see something worthwhile.... Perhaps an Alice appearance? We do know what show Alice is confirmed to appear on this week.

I agree, that's frightening & I am proud to say I am haven't watched a minute of any "reality" show, I think the entire concept is disgusting. Let's make a star out of talentless Whitney Houston clones.

I recorded AI for the Alice appearance. Ugh. Horrible mix. There were a lot of other performers doing the same kind of appearance - Hall & Oates, Bee Gees, Chicago, Michael McDonald, Alanis Morrissette, Joe Cocker (I kept seeing John Belushi), Brett Michaels. Orianthi played on the Alice Cooper song. None of it made me wish I watched AI regularly. I did like most of the Simon segments, although I fast-forwarded through the vast majority of the show.

Alan What did Chicago do? Man, they keep making me cry with what they've done to a once proud band. Another Christmas album is coming too. Ick.

With the guy that won, they did a medley, including "25 Or 6 To 4", "If You Leave Me Now" and a couple others. It was...well, you remember how when 17 came out and was oriented more towards the Cetera-type songs that had been successful on 16, and they used a lot more keyboards and people said, "That's not Chicago!"? That was much better than this. I'm not saying Terry Kath is rolling over in his grave - more like he's circling the planet underground like a torpedo. I guess I didn't like it. Alan Thanks Alan-or should I say no thanks! Eewwww, was that just crappy. I'll stop with the Chicago talk since this an AC thread, but I've been listening to every album in order all spring and man, they were all brilliant through Chicago XIV. I love the Pop stuff, but they were not just doing that, especially on albums like V, VII, VIII, Hot Streets and XIV. Just incredible music. Even 16 through 21 had their moments as well as crap. Now it's just sad. Of course, A.I. sucks ass too so how could Alice Cooper or Chicago have really been any good?
