Never understood the difference, as sometimes an EP had as many songs as a Mini-LP, but what are some of your favorites? I saw someone mentioning their love of EPs in another thread, so what do you think?
Some of mine: Iron Maiden-Maiden Japan Alice In Chains-Jar Of Flies (a masterpiece) Primus-Miscellaneous Debris Rush-Feedback Echo & Bunnymen-Echo & Bunnymen (US only live EP from 1984) Marillion-Brief Encounter Marillion-Reel To Reel Living Colour-Biscuits Cheap Trick-Found All The Parts The Cure-Japanese Whispers Genesis-Spot The Pigeon

Several of the above, but the one I've been listening to nonstop for the last 2 months is: I Think You Know - Julia Nunes Julia is truly the best thing since sliced bread, and the EP was produced in a very Spectorish/Wilsonian manner by Jack Conte of Pomplamoose. Go buy a copy. MP3 downloads of the EP are only $4 on her site. http://junumusic.com/music.php

Aaron Neville's 1985 EP "Orchid in the Storm" is one of his best releases ever.

Ozzy - Mr. Crowley Live Dire Straits - Twisting By The Pool Queensryche - Queensryche Cheap Trick - Found All The Parts (still have the original 10" vinyl) Barenaked Ladies - Yellow Tape
What are the DS - Encores and Thin Lizzy EPs? Don't think I've heard of either of them.

Alan Alan, the Lizzy was a live EP from April 1981 released in the UK which made it to #19. Such a cool mix of live cuts with "Are You Ready", "Opium Trail", "Dear Miss Lonely Hearts" (a Phil Lynott hit) and "Bad Reputation". I don't have it and damn I wish I did. The Dire Straits EP came out in May 1993 and featured 4 live tracks "Your Latest Trick", "The Bug", "solid Rock" and "Local Hero (Wild Theme)". I'd like to have this too. It made it to #31 in the UK. Wonder what the Lizzy is worth?

The UK expanded Free catalog is very much worth picking up. Most of the albums are much longer now!
