Dark Night Of The Soul album will finally see the light of day with an official release this year, after its original release was scuppered by a legal wrangle with EMI.
It was due out last May, but he released a blank CD-R instead in protest. It bore a sticker saying it contained no music "for legal reasons".
The album features guests including Sparklehorse, Iggy Pop, The Flaming Lips and film director David Lynch.
The producer, real name Brian Burton, is now working with The Shins singer James Mercer in the band Broken Bells. They release their debut album on Monday.
The legal issues surrounding Dark Night Of The Soul are now in the past, the producer told 6 Music news.
"The problems of last year are last year, so hopefully it will be out soon in June or something like that," he said.
An EMI spokesman said: "We can confirm that EMI are working with Brian Burton AKA Danger Mouse again, and are delighted to be doing so. Further information on releases will follow shortly."
Other guests include The Strokes' Julian Casablancas, The Pixies' Frank Black, Super Furry Animals frontman Gruff Rhys, and Nina Persson of The Cardigans.
When the album's initial release was blocked, the blank CD also came with a message to "use it as you will". That was seen as a message to fans to download the music from file-sharing sites.
Burton made his name by creating
The Grey Album, an unauthorised remix combining The Beatles' "White Album" and Jay-Z's "Black Album" - which was also blocked by EMI.
He has since worked with Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz and Beck, but said he was now hoping to focus on Broken Bells for the foreseeable future.
"It's really enjoyable music to make," he said. "This reminded me of why I wanted to make music in the beginning. As long as I can keep doing it, I will. I'm not really interested in too much else right now."
The group will finalise a full tour and festival dates shortly, and Burton said he is already working on songs for the band's second album.
