This May from Marvel Comics....

SPECTACULAR SPIDER-GIRL #1
Written by TOM DEFALCO
Pencils & Cover by RON FRENZ
SPIDER-GIRL’S BACK–AND SHE’S BROUGHT THE PUNISHER WITH HER! As a gang war threatens to tear her world apart and her clone, the Venom-like hybrid April Parker adopts a deadly new identity, MayDay Parker’s share of the old Parker luck gets cranked up to eleven when Frank Castle comes out of retirement! Meanwhile the daughter of Captain America is back on the streets of the MC2 Universe – in a world racked with crime and despair, can even AMERICAN DREAM keep hope alive? Here's your chance to get in on the ground floor and see why Spider-Girl has the most dedicated fans of all!
40 PGS./Rated A ...$3.99

Higher page count with a back-up story (and a higher price, natch....) Maybe I'm not quite done with monthly comics after all!

Well that's great. I'm glad they're continuing to support DeFalco's universe.

With this news and the return of ATLAS, I'm a happy camper. And I presume American Dream is the backup, which is also terrific news!

Cool beans! I really enjoy the MC2 timeline and am very glad it's seeing a resurgence!

I've read the Spider-Girl stories in the new Web of Spider-Man series, but they don't really do much for me. I like the art though.

Bannings: fear taste?
I knew American Dream was related to Sharon Carter, but I didn't think she was Cap's daughter. I look forward to the next incarnation of SG's monthly adventures.

BTW, is it just me, or does it seem that Marvel is trying to promote more comics aimed at girls?
I'm not referring to stuff like Fall of the Hulks: The Savage She-Hulks (although I will be getting
that mini) but Marvel Her-oes and even the Sense and Sensibility comic book adaptation. Or am I daft?

Originally, they said she was Sharon Carter's neice who was inspired by the stories of Captain America.
To me, it makes sense that she'd be his daughter and I guess Tom DeFalco did too. Either he changed his
mind, or this is what he had in mind all along and decided to reveal it later on.
