Thanks, Linda! If it weren't for you sometimes, I'd miss out on some cool stuff!

I notice quite a few new postings of blues albums-this, Laurie Morvan's, Joe Louis Walker,Tinsley Ellis,Lucky Peterson,Coco Montoya, and Shannon Curfman.
I'm not familiar with Bryan Lee. I'll certainly give it a listen. I love Buddy Guy as a guitar player, but I can't stand to hear him sing.
The Joanne Shaw-Taylor album from last year is also very good.

Really? Can't stand to hear him sing?! Buddy Guy?! He's one of the last great Bluesmen alive! Even if he wasn't one of the greatest guitarists of all time, his voice would carry him through! I've seen him for perform for over fifteen years every January at Legends, his small club in Chicago, and he never ceases to amaze me. That guitar just sings as soon as he lays fingers on it.

As for his contribution on the Bryan Lee disc which I just picked up, ... good stuff! I'm enjoying the disc as a whole, and the one track Buddy does play on is a nice addition to my Buddy Guy "guest artist" collection.

Yeah, I was gonna comment on the singing comment but to each ear's his own.

You're right, to each his own. But still, ever hear him? The guy knows how to sing! He really does! If you ever see him live -- again, especially in an intimate setting like that -- he clearly knows how to sing. Much more than the average virtuoso guitarist. (Average virtuoso?). Actually, much more than the average singer I hear these days!

I don't like Buddy Guy's singing voice.
Yes, I have heard him sing. I didn't say he doesn't know how to sing, and I didn't compare him to any other singer , guitar virtuosos or otherwise.I'm aware of his staure, his reputation, and the long and wonderful career he's had as one of the great modern bluesman.
I don't like Buddy Guy's singing voice.
