New season started last night. Any thoughts? I thought the reveal of The brother as the "insider" was a bit too easy, and it leads me to believe that there is of course, more to it.

If he was truly the "inside man", why would he have cancelled the reporter's credentials, and then fought so hard against re-instating them?

There's 22 more episodes to go -- of course there's going to be more to it. Just as it looked as though Jack had solved the day last season by mid-afternoon, there was indeed a bigger plot brewing. And Chloe is as pouty lipped and pissed off as ever. One of the funniest things I saw was when she was doing a PSA after one of the shows and after being very serious and Chloe-like, she broke into a big grin!

I thought it was a good but not great start, but that's okay. If they all started like Season 5 it would get pretty old fast. The only real comment I have is that Katee Sackhoff looked FINE. Jennifer Westfeldt, as always, was no slouch herself.

I like how it's a new CTU, but clearly hostile towards Chloe and Jack. The new director is clearly corrupt, as he urges a false report of what happened out in the field, Dana has a mysterious past she's afraid will ruin her and there's treason within Hasaan's own cabinet.
Interesting that the president is now divorced.

Really enjoyed the season opener (though S6 was a disaster after the AMAZING s5 and S7 was so so) this year..cool to see Jack in NYC!!
I also liked the fact that Jack was human again (the scenes with his grandkid were cute) instead of a burnt out killing machine...adds dimension to him..you know he is a badass but he isn't as intense all the goddamn time anymore.
The scene with the axe was great too..classic Jack!!

And I know that Mykelti Williamson has played "Agent In Suit" steadily for the last 15 years, but I'm still hoping he gets to utter the word "shrimp" at some point. Hopefully in reference to Kiefer's height.
I'm just happy Agent Sexy Freckles is back tonight.
