Back when I was commuting upwards of four+ hours a day (round trip), I listened to a lot of audio books. This was pre-iPod, so they were an especially welcome part of my daily life.
Then I got an iPod, and switched jobs, and now I have a very short drive to work (20 minutes) and podcasts and so on. Yet I've also downloaded a slew of audio books. Loads of them. History books, college lectures, novels I've intended to read, classics, and more.
But who has the time for all of them? Not I. I am currently listening to John Keegan's "A History of Warfare." Keegan is an excellent war historian, wrote probably the best book on the First World War, but yeesh, 16 discs of material will take forever to get through.
And then there are dozens more sitting on a hard drive. Unlistened. Unloved.
Sad.

I do play them on fast forward. Gets past all of the mucking about in the middle faster that way.
