I have been re-reading some of my old treasury editions and while I have sold or given away a bunch of my comics and converted my collection to trades, I can't give up my treasury editions. They are a lot of fun and some of the stories never seem as powerful in the regular size. I love the Thor Hulk fight in one of them,



as well as the first Spiderman - Superman one.

I love those too, Allen. There's nothing like reading a comic at that size---I only have 2 Batman treasury-size books plus an old Marvel Christmas one. I hope to someday at least SEE the Superman-Spidey one you showed at that size, even if I never own it. I have it in regular trade-paperback size, but I can only imagine how great that art looks at Treasury size.

What was really awesome about them was seeing the art really big and nice. They were some of the first "trades" Marvel put out. Really cool stuff.

I have a couple Hulk and Thor ones.

Did anybody read the Superman/Fantastic Four crossover from about a decade ago by Dan Jurgens? That was Treasury-size, as I recall, but I never read it.

I do have the Waid/Hitch Justice League book and most of the Dini-Ross books which were also Treasury-size.

Man! I loved those and wish I still had them!

These were great "how to" books as well. I didn't see an original comic art page until I was well out of college. When I was in high school, these Treasury and Limited collections were the only way to see pages at the actual size that they were drawn. I could use these books as templates.

I have the Star Wars Treasury Editions, Empire Strikes Back, G.I.Joe, Close Encounters, a Conan Treasury, The Land of OZ and a Tarzan one. Whenever I see these at a Half Price Books I usually leave with them...

BTW, I had a bunch of these for sale at my shop, but very few sold. I think the Spidey/Supes issue sold, and the Supes/Ali book. That was about it.

The Supes/Ali book is one of my comic book Holy Grails. I'd love to read it at any size, but AFAIK it's never been reprinted, has it?

I thought they printed it at regular size in the 90's... no?

Yeah, they rarely sell for much money, yet everyone I know who's ever had them
loved them. I still have quite a few of them. I used to buy them no matter what
title or characters were being featured.

You don't even know. It gave me goosebumps as a kid, partly because it was the first time we EVER had a DC Marvel crossover, something we fans thought was impossible. But the power in the art at that size was something to see. And the second one had a Hulk Superman fight that also thrilled me, and the seen where the Hulk enters Metropolis and Clark changes to Superman to stop him was incredibly dramatic. Also when Doom's minions try to stop Superman, their fear of his power, was another great scene.



Which is why I'll never give them up, unlike the rest of my monthly collection.



Possibly my favorite Batman story ever and shows the genius that is Neal Adams. Plus Talia never looked hotter.

Neal Adams is in the process of getting it reprinted at DC. Who knows if he'll fu.. I mean, recolor it.

You can probably find Superman Vs. Muhammed Ali on Ebay - I got a copy for $15 or so a few years back - and It's worth every penny. I loved the Tablod sized comics - the Star Wars ones were my first and I loved Batman Vs. The Hulk and the Holiday themed editions. Superman Vs. Wonder Woman has also never been reprinted and has beautiful JL Garcia Lopez art. One of my prized art possessions is the final page to Superman Vs. Shazam!:

I LOVE the Shazam Superman one too. Buckler was underrated.

I had a bunch of them but they were hard to keep because of the size.

I wonder what Supergirl called Cap before they changed it to "dog"...
