I've got some old comic book reprints of Joe Kubert's silver age classic, "The Viking Prince", but next July I'll own the whole series in a new hc reprint from DC.

Product Description
When an amnesiac Viking warrior washed up on the shores of a fishing village in fifth century Iceland, the villagers guessed from his garb that he was royalty, and so they called him Jon, after a legendary prince. Only Thorvald, ruler of a nearby town, realized that he was in fact both royalty and a threat to his own power -- and so, Thorvald plotted to kill Jon. While dodging Thorvald's attempts on his life, Jon also battled giants, sea monsters, witches and more.

There was even an epic movie starring Kirk Douglas, "The Vikings". Douglas may even have produced it, as he had his own successful production company.

BTW the old vikings never had horns on their helmets, that is just a popular myth.

That hardcover collection didn't stay on the market for long, it's already out of print.

Here's the original DC house ad for The Viking Prince's first appearance in The Brave And The Bold #23 (May 1959):

I found Viking Prince to be the most enjoyable of the non super-hero Brave and Bold stories. I will likely pick this up.

We just watched the JLU episode with the Viking Prince in it today. Featured some stills of Kubert work too!

Just found (and ordered) a "new" copy of this from an Amazon 3rd party vendor.
