The former "Equalizer" star dies at 79.

I'm reminded of the old joke:

Q: Why does Edward Woodward have four Ds in his name?
A: Because "Ewar Woowar" would sound stupid.

I watched The Equalizer as a kid. Other than that nothing else that I can recall. He's done a lot of work but it's passed me by.

I am truly saddened by this news. I loved that show. The Equalizer had it all; Mr. Woodward, Robert Lansing, Robert Mitchum, and Stewart Copeland's incredible music.
May God bless Mr. Woodward and his family.

I finally saw the classic THE WICKER MAN earlier this year; Woodward was fantastic in it.

Don't remember watching The Equalizer much although one episode really terrified me as a kid. It had Woodward's character trapped in some isolated cabin with 1 or 2 other people, under siege by bad guys. It was super-scary, but I couldn't stop watching.

Yes. I was being serious, Professor. I just got them mixed up, that's all. :ohyes:

Btw, I'm sorry I cut class last Tuesday, Professor. I was at a salon getting my nails done...

...ok. That time I wasn't being totally serious.

I'm embarrassed to say this, but I thought Woodward passed away a couple of years ago. I may have mistake the death of one of his colleagues for him. Anyway, he will be missed...
