Realizing what they did during Civil War was stupid and out of character, they will try to come up with some cockamamie way to redeem Tony Stark.

Well, that's what I thought the whole suck out my memory story was all about.
Now, we get the proper heroes, Cap and Thor, restoring Tony to proper thinking.

I am enjoying collecting this series, unread.

I hear good things, though.

I read Civil War.

There was no reason for people to get so down on Tony.
There was no reason to put Osborn in charge.
Plenty of stupid to go around here.

What's the worst thing that Tony did during the whole thing?
Helped bring about the cloned Thor?
Made technology that an alien race was able to exploit?

Please.
Aliens have massively superior tech than we have.
Tony supplied a hair.
Reed Richards and a Skull Pym were responsible for doing most of that.
Where is the reprogramming of Reed?

Tony didn't do anything all that bad. The problem is they got carried away with the Stark as Bush theme, cramming a bunch of stuff in there that was an ill-fitted and lame critique of Bush. And somehow, the non-registration side was supposed to be the Democrats? (That makes no sense). But the rhetoric matched Bush and the War on Terror.

So he has to be reprogrammed to get the taste of all those things out of his mouth for the liberal writers. It hasn't ocurred to them that even Bush and Cheney were put in difficult situations that would make for great stories.

Registration was supposed to be Fascism, I guess.
The 50 State Initiative made everything a police state.

Can't wait for the next round of interviews where they pat themselves on the back for how well they write "the other side", like Brubaker did.

If we want to redeem the Tony Stark character, it's easy: let's stop buying the comics and just watch the movies and cartoons instead. Those are the "real" versions of the character now, anyway.

When are they going to do that for Reed Richards too?

Thor's going to get his clone to supply brain cells for Tony. Or is that what's happened already?

Whatever.
It'll get the Big 3 Avengers back together, and then maybe they can all be heroes again.

So, if the Big Three get back together, what book will they be together in?

Thor is banished from Asgard (back to previous Thor levels, needs to hang onto his hammer)
Cap is just returned from jumping to and fro his history (but we still got Bucky Cap)
Stark probably recovers (back to his pre-Extremis self, or has limited use of Extremis so he can run a modern suit)

Are they the MIGHTY Avengers? Join back up with Pym, and let Slott write them?
They sure aren't the NEW AVENGERS. Don't let BENDIS! write them.
They sure as shooting aren't the Dark Avengers. May that title die a horrible death.

Will Marvel reboot another Avengers book just for them?

They don't need any other members, either.
Just Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, and Hank Pym.

AEgir Odinson, Engineer Supreme, Ultimate Human strategist, and Scientist Supreme.

If they want to go find/restore Janet, that would be okay, too, but it kind of makes Hank
look like a dick for not having already done so. (Actually, it's where I was hoping Slott
was going with having Hank explore/contact Enternity)

Okay. I'm behind. I see Marvel has SIEGE scheduled, and Bendis looks
to be the main writer of the Big Three. Oh well...

Think they'll go to an thrice-monthly single Avengers title?

Did you like Ultimate Hawkeye, Trev? I thought he was better.

I really am a major fan of the classic version. The Ultimates was a hard series for me to get in to. But I did like the Ultimate Hawk. The costume look was excellent. And he was used decently in the series. One thing I like is even in a new setting like that Hawkeye as a character is one of the early additions. He isn't as flashy as many characters. He shoots trick arrows. That's it, that's all. But he just fits that team setting so well.

This, or some variation of it, will always be the "real" Hawkeye for me. Love that character. Thanks for asking, Jay.

I don't like him in Ultimates using guns.

I liked him. He seemed obviously more like Bullseye. But that clicked more for me for the character -- his ability centers around the concept of accuracy itself, not arrows.

But mainly I just thought he was wicked cool in his interrogation scene.

But yeah, in Avengers proper, we have to get back to Hawkeye with a bow,
and lose Ronin with a sword. I can appreciate Clint using a sword, too,
seeing how he was trained by the Swordsman, but it kind of ruins the idea
where you have the standard warrior types:

Cap: shield guy
Iron Man: armor guy
Black Knight: sword guy
Hawkeye: archer guy
