Any Femforce fans out there? I've been on an old-fashioned superhero kick lately, reading my old Shazams and Golden Age reprints and also Femforce. While the boobs are everywhere, they did some nice superhero stories.

I found the "boobs are everywhere" thing rather hard to overlook. Didn't care for it.

It's weird how the stories were so "old-fashiony' superhero stories yet the art had boobs everywhere. a weird contradiction.

The Americomics/FemForce universe has/had a pretty good setting using a lot of public domain golden age characters...and yeah, the boobage is quite, um, prodigious...

Is FemForce still running?

I believe they are but finding them in stores is very difficult. I don't know why they haven't gone to digital yet.

Their universe is very enjoyable and well thought out, which makes the boobs more puzzling.

And for the most part, they have done a far better job with the Public Domain characters than Alex Ross has done.

Probably better than Heroic Comics series like Flare, where there's as much if not more boobage, but less story.

Never heard of "Femforce."

It's a little stronger than "Femfresh". It's for women who have serious lady-problems.

I've seen this series sitting on the shelves of many comic shops. It seems like it's been around forever...but I've never known anyone who read it.

There are some nice superhero stories there, and good clean art if you can get past the boobies.

I don't mind them that much, especially when Black or Heike does the art. As a horny kid, I dug it.

I have a friend who drew a cover for them once, I think he won a contest.

one of my favorite "unknown" artists got his start with AC...Vic Bridges. Not sure if he is still working in comics, but his art was very similar to early Byrne and just generally good. If I recall correctly(it very well may have been a different artist), he was let go from AC for drawing a Ms.Victory/Rad story off model...not that it stopped AC from printing the story!

I remember him well. He had a nice run on Freak Force too then he quit comics. I liked his art a great deal, his only weakness being the women's faces (though it might have been his inker's fault at the times).

He knew how to draw fight scenes in the old style very well.

If you can't, though, the stories are a real disappointment.

I can but it's still peculiar.
