The Innocents - 21st Anniversary Edition Deluxe (2xCD & 1xDVD)

Erasure's double platinum album The Innocents was originally released in 1988. On Monday 26th October Mute records releases a deluxe package to celebrate the original album's 21st anniversary. The deluxe release features 2 CD's and a DVD contained within a 20-page CD sized hardback book format package. The contents include a fully remastered CD of The Innocents, a second CD B-Sides, Remixes & Rarities and a DVD.

The second CD includes the much sought after 7" version of "River Deep Mountain High", the US mixes of "Chains Of Love" and "A Little Respect" and four previously unreleased tracks from the BBC's 'In Concert' recording of Erasure at London's Hammersmith Odeon on The Innocents tour back in 1988.

The DVD (NTSC All Regions) features The Innocents concert from Birmingham's NEC (originally released as a VHS video in 1989) with remixed and remastered audio, plus the two tracks from that concert that have never been released before, and the videos for the three singles taken from the original album, a selection of TV performances from the BBC archives and 'The Innocents live' in MP3 format for you to download to your computer or music player.

In addition, apparently an EP will come out 2 weeks earlier of remixes.

"The 21st anniversary edition of Erasure's 1988 album "The Innocents" will be released on October 26th and will be available as a standard and a deluxe edition. The club EP will be released as a six-track EP holding classic remixes which originally were released on 3 promo-only 12" in 1990 (intended for DJs in clubs) and which have not been commercially released before."

The Phantom Bride EP is now available on iTunes UK. Apparently a Promo CD is almost making the rounds with additional mixes, although I haven't seen a tracklist yet. Amazon US only has this available as an import at this time.

So far I've only been able to find listings that describe the DVD as PAL. Any word on a domestic release yet?

I can play PAL on my Denon but I would prefer NTSC so I can play it on all my machines. Keep us informed how this turns out.

I believe that http://www.erasureinfo.com lists it as NTSC (or whatever it is). I imported it from the UK, the cost was the same as getting the domestic from Amazon, should be here this week or next. I'll let you know. The video is the least interesting part to me anyways.

Thanks! I checked your link and they say there that the U.S. edition will be released on Nov. 24. I just want to wait and be sure I don't get a PAL version. The DVD is also the least interesting part for me, but since I'm paying for it, I'd like to be able to play it.

I got my set today from Erasure's Mute UK store.

1. Sounds absolutely fantastic. A great job on the remaster and the bonus tracks. Very nicely "freshened up."

2. The DVD is NTSC. It comes with a data folder that has the live concert in 192 MP3 format, including the bonus tracks. Very nice.

3. My order with the Mute UK store cost the same amount as Amazon, including overseas shipping (and currency exchange).

4. The Erasure website reports the US release has been pushed back to Dec 5 (according to the news page).
