A bit of an aside...

One of the things I've always thought I'd like to try if I ever got to do a run on FF is incorporate this into the continuity of the comic book. I'd have Ben save Reed from one of his own lab accidents, but the accident turns Ben Grimm into a 13 year old. Johnny thinks it's hilarious and calls him "Benjy." Reed figures out a way to temporarily change him back and creates a device comprised of two rings that lock together and release some cosmic rays that temporarily abate the effect... but Johnny sabotages their creation by changing the voice-activation of the rings so that Ben has to say "Thing ring do your thing" in order to change... much to his annoyance. This would be a 3-4 issue idea at most.

I would read that. What did you think of the Waid/Wieringo run on FF? The above sounds like the sort of thing they would have done.

I didn't read all of it, I'm sorry to say. Yeah, the title has missed that sort of fun-ness for a while.

Apathy, I would imagine.

I think someone had the great idea "We want Ben Grimm as a young teen!" and then someone else said, "Well how does he turn into the Thing if this is happening before the Fantastic Four?"

And it went from there. Remember, this was a couple years after they did The Fantastic Four with Herbie the Robot.
