For a limited time only, you have a chance to own some of Uncle Rog's very own personal comic books...direct from my files to you.

Among the comics are the complete run of Jack Kirby's ETERNALS*, the first eight issues of John Byrne's ALPHA FLIGHT, assorted issues of SPIDER-WOMAN and SPIDER-MAN ANNUALS, and many issues of DOCTOR STRANGE (a number of them written by Yours Truly).

All are currently up for bid on the ebay. You can check them all out by clicking this here link: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/asburyparkercomics

So bid early and bid often.

* Now, this makes me feel old! I actually proofread that first issue of ETERNALS.

Do you remember your feelings at the time about Kirby returning to Marvel after so long? (I know he actually came back 6 months earlier with Captain America, but you know what I mean...)

As I recall, Jack's first few CAPs had already gone on sale when I came to work at Marvel...and a lot of fans were hot and bothered because the series read differently than it had under Steve Englehart. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn't get what Jack was doing...then. I'll admit that even I didn't appreciate the stories then as much as I do now. Yeah, some of Jack's dialogue could be a little outre, but with Kirby you have to look at the work as a whole.

The Eternals had some great work. I wish it hadn't been integrated into the Marvel Universe -- it would have been stronger set in a world of it's own.

And it was absolutely amazing to hold Jack's penciled pages in my hands. Talk about not being worthy.

But I think Machine Man was my favorite.

The Ten-For saga was awesome. With this story Kirby did in Machine Man one of his best works IMO.
