I picked up some Catwoman trades from the library and was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed them, especially the Cooke issues (he draws a fine Catwoman).

I've never read a Catwoman comic. Is she a thief or a hero?

Its ambiguous. I'm not usually a fan of supporting characters getting their own books (I almost wish it was a new hero instead of Catwoman) but it is well done.

The Brubaker/Cooke/Stewart run was very good. Only time I've ever been interested in a Catwoman comic.

Look for the Cooke solo OGN too, forgot the title at the moment. But the best part of the Cooke run was when it turned into a road picture. Plus they made Slam Bradley cool.

I liked the Jim Balent drawn Catwoman era a bit, but I dumped it all in the great purge of last year. The Brubaker/Cooke series was good enough to keep.

Agreed. Possibly the best Catwoman run.

Plus Cooke draws a sexy Catwoman, without being gratuitous

Some of the violence is a bit extreme in those early issues, but the art is great.

I bought all the issues by Paul Gulacy, he's one of the few Marvel artists that I collect current work of.

Great run by Brubaker - a great crime comic with a lot of heart..some real emotional moments throughout the stories.

Rereading these and picked up a few more. Really good stuff and nice art.

Catwoman trades… tit for tat, or kit for cat?

Brubaker can write, no question about it. And the artists have been really good, would love to see those teams on the Bat books.

And here I thought this was going to be about a story arc where she stops stealing and starts giving something in exchange for what she takes....
