Gamespot preview 1 and Gamespot preview 2.

Looks pretty cool; wish I had more time to play video games these days, because surely I'd jump on this. Over 20 playable characters, including Blade, Captain America, Dr. Strange, Elektra, Ghost Rider, Spider-Man, Thor, Wolverine, and the Thing, and over 100 characters in all, with all the big villains you'd want to see. Doctor Doom, Ultron, & more.

It's an action RPG, which is okay, I guess, made by the folks who did the X-Men Legends games. I didn't play those, but heard good things. Not sure if the story depth will be there - certainly not on Bioware levels - but if it is, this could be a winner for comic fans.

I am so looking forward to playing this. I LOVED X-Men Legends. I played those games through twice.

Played through some of the first level (SHIELD helicarrier) tonight, some of it co-op with the lad. While I really would have loved a Freedom Force style game, this is a fun beat-em-up. Co-op has that old school Gauntlet feel to it. The heroes look good (though the camera is set a bit far back). Overall my short play time (30 minutes or so) was fun.

Yeah, that's odd. You've got the Ultimates, and what looks to be the Ultimate FF and Wolverine, but it's got non-bug Galactus and non-black Nick Fury.

I noticed the same. It's kind of have Ultimate U, half MU.

I don't mind either way. I just want to beat up some Ultron bots.

GAH-LAK-TUS wasn't really a bug.

Spoiler: show
He was a huge entity that had no real shape and was entirely composed of individual computers linked together wirelessly to create a sort of brain, each computer being similar to individual brain cells.

It fed on planets to fuel its system.

A lot of people complained about GAH-LAK-TUS not being "humanoid", and therefore not as interesting, his motivation changing, but I found the Ultimate version more interesting for this reason:

He appeared to be non-organic, a giant computer, so who made him?

Despite all the "Ultimate" versions, another thing I noticed last night that was mainstream MU: If you do the right team combo, the game acknowledges that you've created the New Avengers.

The FF - and it was AWESOME romping around with the full FF - are the Ultimate versions, best I can tell.

Odd mix of Ultimate and "normal" universe. Galactus looks great tho.

Dunno, didn't see the movie. The dude I have right now looks like Ultimate Thing to me.

Captain America is clearly the original, not Ultimate.

Wolverine, it's not clear.

Nightcrawler looks to be Ultimate, based on the cinematic I saw.

Doom looks like Ultimate, but has his original real name.

Fury is original.

Iceman is original.

Iron Man looks to be Ultimate.

I'm just talking about that screenshot, second from the bottom, where the Thing has no brow and looks just like the guy in the movie suit. He doesn't seem to look like that in the other shots (particularly the last one).

This game looks cool, but I didn't care for x-men legends 2 when I played it, so I'll probably give this one a pass.

Yeah, I knew all that, but I needy a quick, witty description that served brevity better than
Spoiler: show
"non-huge entity that had no real shape and was entirely composed of individual computers linked together wirelessly to create a sort of brain, each computer being similar to individual brain cells, and behaved not unlike a intelligent linked swarm of intergalactic insects"
.

So much for brevity.

Haven't been able to get the camera in close enough to see if he has grey temples. No glasses, though.

So he'd probably be the regular MU version, maybe wearing the Ultimate uniform.

It all depends on the color of his temples.

I'm not much of a video game player.....but this game and that zombie one(Dead Rising?)look really great.Maybe if someone creates a mod of this game, they could do a Marvel Zombies addition.

I might like to get this. But I have small children around when I play. Can someone (at some point) comment on the violence level?

I'm not concerned about "obliteration" violence, or punching or laser blasts. But as a whole, is the game too graphic for a 4 or 5 year old to be walking in the room?

For example, I used to hack baddies to pieces with a crowbar in Half Life. I had no choice.

Does he have wings? It didn't look like he did.

Are there no capes for the heroes, like Dr. Strange and Thor?
