Thanks for reading, and for the comments (especially MattToo). I've already got the next part roughed out, so I should have it finished and posted by Sunday.

I read super-fast. I finished Anansi, read Fragile Things, and just finished Already Dead by Charlie Huston. Now I'm reading A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby.

Of course, there was also over a week between the first two strips, so that helped.

Seriously, though, thanks Jay.

Sorry, since my last post I finished Anansi Boys, Crime and Punishment, and another big thick book.

Yawn.

Hey Matt
I'm finishing up Anansi Boys right this minute -- likey. Can you give me a quick reaction to Fragile Things? Do you think I would like it if I liked Anansi? Doesn't have to be similar, just wondering if it holds up as a good exemplar of Gaiman's writing. Do you think you are too much of a Gaiman inhaler to be an unbiased reviewer?

I'm probably pretty biased, but I'll give it a shot. For starters, if you haven't already done so, read American Gods. If you liked Anansi Boys, you'll like it quite a bit. The same goes for Neverwhere, for that matter. So I'd say you're perfectly safe with those three.

Fragile Things (as well as his previous collection, Smoke and Mirrors) is a collection of a wide range of short stories. If you've ever read Sandman, it's the equivalent of the done in one issues in terms of the range of different styles and subject matter. I enjoyed it, but even I wouldn't say I loved every story. You're best bet is to check it out of a library.

And if you like the idea of a Neil Gaiman book scripted by Terry Pratchett, read Good Omens, a Neil Gaiman book scripted by Terry Pratchett, as far as I can tell.

Matt, just did another visit to check on Shadowtown. Two questions:

1. Is there anything past Part 2? I didn't see it if there is.

2. Is that poop in that guy's hand? Because Eric St. John does that sometimes, too.

2. Poop? Poop? No. It's a rock.

1. Parts 3, 4, and 5 are drawn, but not colored or lettered yet. GIMP, the program I was using, quit on me. I got Photoshop for Christmas, and I've almost figrured out everything I need to know, so Part 3 should be up in about a week, at the most.

I use GIMP a little. Too cheap to get Photoshop because I have no real use for it. But GIMP is unwieldy. How did it "quit" on you? It's a free download.
