I'm not sure if this has been discussed previously, but the Saint Etienne back catalogue is being reissued in Deluxe Editions. Released earlier this year were FOXBASE ALPHA and CONTINENTAL.

24/06/2009
Not only did Saint Etienne’s landmark singles define the years straddling Rave and Britpop, the trio also unleashed a string of studio albums every bit as sonically adventurous and musically satisfying as any of their contemporaries. Mixing and matching classic 60s girl Pop with big sampled beats, cool Euro synths, gritty urban basslines, classic House and elements of English Folk, Glam Rock and Hip-Hop, Pete, Bob and Sarah’s prolific output over two decades also produced an astonishing array of Grade A quality rarities – from fanclub-only tracks to quirky covers and alternate versions to experimental works in progress.
UMC recently kicked off a comprehensive reissue programme which will see each of the band’s albums remastered and expanded into sumptuous Deluxe Editions. Disc One will include a glossy sonic overhaul of the original album while Disc Two will feature the rare and unreleased stuff will. Each Deluxe Edition will also come with previously unseen photographs and extensive sleevenotes by the band. First up in the sequence (released May 2009 and out now) are the band’s classic 1991 debut Foxbase Alpha and the hitherto Japan-only release Continental.
From August onwards, 2001’s Sound Of Water and 1993’s seminal So Tough will also follow. Looking further ahead, 2010 will bring the collection to its completion with Tales From Turnpike House, Tiger Bay, Good Humour and Finisterre all getting the Deluxe makeover, alongside Sarah Cracknell’s poptastic, one-off solo album Lipslide and an expanded version of the remix collection Casino Classics.
Oh, and don’t forget, too, the new and damn-near-definitive Saint Etienne ‘Best Of’ Anthology, London Conversations, is also available now. Get it from HMV or Amazon now.
