No, not really.
But in case you all have missed me, I'm currently TDY (HA! I somehow hit my keyboard funny as I finished typing TDY and those double-sighs popped up. However, they are correct, so I'm leaving them there!)
in Wichita Falls Texas.
No offense, but I might have preferred Baghdad.
Anyway, my input at IMWAN may be limited for the next 2 weeks, depending on when I can get online.
Of course, most of my inputs were limited anyway...
So that's it.
That's all I got for ya.
Now, off to the WANderground for some boobage!

It's Cheney. And he's from Wyoming.

It is Cheney - and he only officially became "from Wyoming" when it was realized that the President and the Vice President are not allowed to be from the same state.

Not entirely true. He was a congressman from Wyoming at one point and grew up in Casper Wyoming.
At the time of the 2000 election he was living in Texas though residency is not something set in stone, so to speak.

It is common for the Vice Presidential candidate to come from a different region of the country than the President or appeal to a slightly different ideological wing of the party. The 12th Amendment discourages the Vice President from legally residing in the same state as the President, as Electors must vote for at least one candidate not in the same state as themselves. However, the ease of changing one's state of residence (as Dick Cheney did in 2000) minimizes the effect of this provision.
The Constitution also prohibits electors from voting for both a Presidential and Vice Presidential candidate from the same state as themselves. In theory, this might deny a Vice Presidential candidate with the most electoral votes the absolute majority required to secure election, even if the Presidential candidate is elected, and place the Vice Presidential election in the hands of the Senate. In practice, this requirement is easily circumvented by having the candidate for Vice President change the state of residency as was done by Dick Cheney, who changed his legal residency from Texas to Wyoming, his original homestate, in order to run for election as Vice President alongside George W. Bush, who was then the governor of Texas.

I'll second that, assuming it's during the week. I work at Texas Renaissance Festival on the weekends and leave town on Friday's.

Heh. Blew the spelling. Oh well. Yes, I knew he was a congressman from Wyoming. But when he was busy... umm... with target practice on his friend, he was in Texas.

I never saw this. I drove through Texas last week, and I'm now TDY in Arizona until December.
The fun never ends for us poor grunts!
