Taking a page from HIGH FIDELITY, the book of which I just finished, which five artists or bands on your list will have to be shot come the musical revolution?

Me:

1. Rod Stewart
2. Nickelback
3. Kid Rock
4. Aerosmith
5. Dave Matthews Band

Rod has survived several musical revolutions at this point, so he might be as indestructible as Keith Richards.

I know Creed would definitely make my list. I can also agree to add Nickelback, Kid Rock and DMB. I'd probably also add Bon Jovi.

Taken away from the context of all the other hair bands of the late '80s, I've reevaluated my position on Bon Jovi. I still don't think they are or were great, but they were better than I gave them credit for at the time.

If I answer Steve, I'll offend 1/2 the board!! I think I've been pretty vocal about the artists I despise........... They tend to be big selling pop & rap artists.

I will say that I don't know if Kid Rock would make my top 5 of evil worthless artists, but i agree that he's way up there on the "needs to go away list".

And I do like the first 3 Aerosmith albums & early pre Warner Rod Stewart & Faces alot.

I know I will, but I'll go for it anyway.....

1. Billy Joel
2. Aeroshit
3. Elton John
4. Rod Stewart (post Faces/Never A Dull Moment)
5. U2

I'm sure I could put rap/contemporary artists on here, but I don't listen to any.

Glad you didn't mention the other Joe Jackson.

This whole Joe Jackson thing has been driving me crazy. Every time I see a headline about Michael Jackson's father, for a split second I think it is something about the other Joe Jackson. I guess that says something about my priorities.

MJ's father really does seem to be a despicable abusive slime.

Can we kill off Bono and Sting now? I'm tired of waiting.

I won't hold back on these

I have been very critical on the direction of popular music this past decade or so. Here below are some I won't miss.

Whitney Houston (Irritating beyond description)
Brittney Spears (Trailer trash who apparently sings)
Lady Ga Ga (One of the worst I have seen or heard)
Black Eyed Peas (Wish they'd shut up)
Mariah Carey (Bimbo who also sings)
