I'll kick it off by saying I'm a big classic soul fan and I have zero titles of Aretha Franklin or Marvin Gaye.

Classic Rock is my favorite genre, and I'm pretty well-covered there for the most part. However, my favorite "change-of-pace" genres are blues and jazz - and I don't own any Bessie Smith or Charlie Parker.

I've got most of my bases covered, but many artists were demoted to greatest hits packages when I went from LP to CD.
I own no Paul McCartney, but have John, George, Ringo and a plethora of Beatles. This despite the fact that he's the only one to have amounted to much post-Beatles

This despite the fact that he's the only one to have amounted to much post-Beatles razoo, not just me, but many would disagree with your statement. i believe wholeheartedly that both john lennon and george harrison had much better solo careers than paul mcartney. mccartney has the quantity, but certainly, at least in my mind, not even close to the quality. renny

I admit to owning no Frank Zappa either, but I will get his doo-wop tribute, "Reuben & the Jets" and the comp "Strictly Commercial". That's all I need. Oh yes, and "Bongo Fury" for Captain Beefheart.

No Graham Nash solo. Will make up for that omission by getting the box set.

Certainly the Ringo album is usually held in high esteem as one of the best solo Beatle LPs.
