Carmine Infantino was voted "second greatest comic book artist of all time" by CBG.

Not sure how anyone besides Kirby and Ditko could rate 1 or 2, but certainly Infantino is one of the all-time greats.

(CBG is still published?)

Hopefully Greg Land got the number one spot he so rightly deserves.

Yes, CBG is still published, but is now a monthly mag.

Sure wish CBG had tried harder this decade to make itself relevant. As it is, hardly anyone knows it exists.

I still get it in the mail.
I have since it was in early double digits.
It's morphed into what it had to be to survive.
It's still OK by me.

Yay for Carmine -- he's not in my top two, but he's pretty darn high up there.

As for CBG, I get it, but don't read much of it anymore. Mostly Mr. Silver Age, Captain Comics, and Michelle Nolan's column. And Mr. Silver age has been boring me lately.

Well, really that's about all there is to read anymore.
The "news" is ancient, thanks to the net,
Tony Isabella's reviews are, well, reviews,
and Maggie's column is of interest to me maybe 1 out of 5.
But I keep it on the porcelin reading table attached to the commode
until the next one comes in the mail.
It's comfort reading.

Kirby I can see as No. 1. I think I could see Joe Kubert as the No. 2 artist. Murphy Anderson, Nick Cardy, Steve Ditko, Irv Novick, Will Eisner, Neal Adams, Jim Aparo all seem pretty well up there too.

I'd put all those guys ahead of Carmine, unless he was being inked by a clean inker, like on Flash.

I haven't finalized my personal backyard Pantheon, but my top five are:

1. Frank Frazetta
2. Alex Toth
3. Harvey Kurtzman
4. Steve Ditko
5. Jack Kirby

Hanzo, I haven't seen the list, just picked up the trivia on Carmine in another context.

I used to get CBG but with the internet, there really is no need for it anymore. I do like Carmo\ine Infantino, though.

I don't think I'd even put Carmine in the top twenty. The only really great stuff I ever saw from him was the stuff inked by Anderson. I think he had a gift for laying out covers, though, a great design sense. But I wouldn't put him too high up on the great artist list. He was great in other areas though.
