I have an ASUS burner and have been using TDK discs so far and have only burned a couple of coasters, but every disc has had a slight pause at the layer change.

For those who have used dual-layered DVDs for burning video... Do you find that the video pauses for a moment during the switch from one layer to the next? Does this happen with some discs and not others? Is it the nature of some burners and not others?

Thanks in advance for any info!

I find this happens in commercially recorded movies on dual-layer DVDs, so it doesn't surprise me to hear that it occurs on ones that you recorded. Or do you mean the pauses are really long?

Thanks, Bro! No, it's just a split second pause.

I think in some commercially recorded DVDs they might cleverly arrange it so that the pause occurs in a break between scenes (which I assume your recording software is not clever enough to do).

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks again, Tom.

Just echoing everything Tom said. I've experienced the same issues ... it's not anything you're doing wrong, Jon.

You might want to post that on the cd freaks board.

I would suggest trying Falcon dl's rather then TDK.
