B.J. Thomas has just released an album of Brazilian music: it's called "Once I Loved". Apart from Brazilian songs, it has a rerecording of his greatest hit in Brazil, "Rock and Roll Lullaby". It also features a few Brazilian musicians as guests:

B.J.'s popularity in Brazil in recent years is probably greater than in his home country. Brazilians are not aware of his post-'72 country hits, but songs like "Oh, Me, Oh, My", "Long Ago Tomorrow" and especially the already mentioned "Rock and Roll Lullaby" were as popular over here as "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head", if not more so. So I guess that explains his recording an album especially for his Brazilian fans.The album is quite good, but mostly bossa nova from start to finish. Even "Rock and Roll Lullaby" was recorded with a bossa nova arrangement. In the liner notes, B.J. says this song became popular in Brazil because of a soap called "O Ninho" (The Nest). Where did he get this piece of information from???? It was called "Selva de Pedra" (Stone Jungle)!
