I saw this posted at musictap.net:
KISS fans will be happy to know that a 4CD Box is in the works called Alive! Alive! will be delivered to fans by Island Records. This set is scheduled to arrive on November 14. Christmas is gonna be so nice.
No details on the particulars yet, but what I've heard is that the first three discs will be remasters of Alive I, II & III and the fourth disc will be the unreleased Alive IV that was supposed to have been released in the spring of 2000. This is not to be confused with KISS Symphony: Alive IV, which was released in 2003. Completely different animal.
Of course, this is all speculation, but I'm sure they'll release details soon.
There is no shortage of Kiss collections out there, but, as they used to say before Paul, Gene, Ace, and Peter took the stage, "You wanted the best and you got the best!" Spanning four discs, [title]Alive! 1975-2000[/title] makes a great time capsule for Kiss Army completists, packed with a quarter-century of pictures and band reminiscences. And then there's the music. Remastered and packaged together for the first time, the immortal hard-rock one-two punch of Alive! and Alive II together with 1993's makeup-free Alive III showcase the legendary band in their element: driving audiences wild with their thunderous riffs, bombastic ballads, and shameless showmanship. Previously unreleased, Alive: The Millennium Concert captures the reunited and remasked original lineup at the New Year's Eve 1999 stop on what appears to be a never-ending farewell tour. It's safe to say the definitive live Kiss experience is captured here--from Paul Stanley's barefaced buttering-up of the crowd ("This song is dedicated to you, 'cause this song is about people who know what rock 'n' roll is about") to Peter Criss's nearly-epic "God of Thunder" drum solo, and four, count 'em, four, versions of "Rock and Roll All Nite." Kiss was never a band likely to be accused of understatement, and Alive! 1975-2000 is an appropriately exalted celebration of their excess and excellence.

New upcoming KISS releases: Alive Box Set & Millenium Collection 3 Filed under: Music News/Commentary — rhodeislandrock @ 4:24 pm From Bravewords:
The Alive! box set that we mentioned a while ago, to contain KISS’ first three Alive albums (as released on Universal labels, whereas the latest Alive IV/Symphony album came out via Sanctuary Records), turns out to be not just that! Apparantly, it’ll be a 4 disc box set, scheduled for November. Believe it or not, the fourth disc is expected to be the never released, original Alive IV album (cover art pictured) that was once advertised back in 2000 and recorded when the band was still with Universal Music.
Recorded on New Year’s Eve 1999/2000 at Vancouver’s BC Place Concert Bowl in Canada, the original Alive IV was set for a March 28th, 2000 release. However, it quickly got pushed back to April 18th before it got shelved indefinately. Around that time, PAUL STANLEY stated in an online chat: “Alive IV will be out at some point. We missed our deadline and we’re still in midst of it.”
The tracklisting back then was supposed to be: ‘Psycho Circus’, ‘Shout It Out Loud’, ‘Deuce’, ‘Heaven’s On Fire’, ‘Into The Void’, ‘Firehouse’, ‘Do You Love Me’, ‘Let Me Go Rock ‘N’ Roll’, ‘I Love It Loud’, ‘Lick It Up’, ‘100,000 Years’, ‘Love Gun’,'Black Diamond’, ‘Beth’ and ‘Rock And Roll All Nite’ (with the Japanese edition to also include the bonus tracks ‘2000 Man’, ‘God Of Thunder’ and ‘Detroit Rock City’).
In other Universal Music news, the band’s former label will release yet another KISS compilation album. Titled Millennium Collection – 20th Century Masters Vol. 3, the album is set for an October 10. The release and obviously the sequel to Volumes 1 and 2. The tracklisting is as follows: ‘God Gave Rock ’N’ Roll To You II’, ‘Unholy’, ‘Domino’ – Live, ‘Hate’, ‘Childhood’s End’, ‘I Will Be There’, ‘Comin’ Home’ – Live Unplugged, ‘Got To Choose’ – Live Unplugged, ‘Psycho Circus’, ‘Into The Void’, ‘I Pledge Allegiance To The State Of Rock And Roll’, ‘Nothing Can Keep Me From You’.
——————————————————–
Obviously it’s nice to finally see the “original” Alive IV released but now you have to buy the first 3 all over again. I’d just prefer a separate release. As far as the new Millenium collection…..I’ll buy it but it’s a label cash grab. At least ‘Got To Choose’ from Unplugged is being released domestically, it was the Japanese bonus track. Also, you don’t need to buy the Detroit Rock City Soundtrack for ‘Nothing Can Keep Me From You’. Of course, if you bought the KISS box set a few years ago, these were included.
Can’t blame Gene & Paul, Universal owns the back catalog and can release what they want. I’m sure the guys won’t refuse any checks that come their way but I do hope they have some creative input.

Universal Music will be releasing the "Alive! 1975-2000" box set featuring KISS' first three "Alive" albums (as released on Universal labels, whereas the latest "Alive IV"/"Kiss Symphony" album came out via Sanctuary Records) in Europe on November 17. The set will appearently be a four-disc box set, with the fourth disc expected to be the never-released, original "Alive IV" album that was once advertised back in 2000 and recorded when the band was still with Universal Music. The package will include a 10-panel digipack with a plastic O-Sleeve, and a special silver ink and sculpted embossing to the digi of the KISS logo.
Recorded on New Year's Eve 1999/2000 at Vancouver's BC Place Concert Bowl in Canada, the original "Alive IV" was set for a March 28, 2000 release. However, it quickly got pushed back to April 18 before it got shelved indefinItely. Around that time, Paul Stanley stated in an online chat: "'Alive IV' will be out at some point. We missed our deadline and we're still in midst of it."
KISS "Alive! 1975-2000" box set will consist of the following:
CD1: "Alive!" CD2: "Alive II" (bonus track: "Rock and Roll All Nite" single version) CD3: "Alive III" (incl. "Take It Off")
CD4: "Kiss Alive IV: The Millennium Concert" (2000)
01. Psycho Circus 02. Shout It Out Loud 03. Deuce 04. Heaven's On Fire 05. Into The Void 06. Firehouse 07. Do You Love Me? 08. Let Me Go Rock ‘N' Roll 09. I Love It Loud 10. Lick It Up 11. 100,000 Years 12. Love Gun 13. Black Diamond 14. Beth 15. Rock And Roll All Nite 16. 2000 Man 17. God Of Thunder 18. Detroit Rock City
"Kiss Alive IV: The Millennium Concert" was recorded by Pete McCabe and mixed by James "Jimbo" Barton, assisted by Patrick Thrasher, at Encore Studios, Burbank, California.
(Thanks: KissNews.de)
Finally, some actual news about this. And it appears they're including the songs that were slated to be bonus tracks for the never-released Japanese version of Alive IV.

I know - we're getting a one-two punch with KISSology at the end of this month and the box set a few weeks later.
I said when this first was announced that I won't buy the Alive box set, but my resistance has been wearing down. I know that Darth Jimbo is urging me to buy it!

I know that this box set has had its problems as it maneuvers its way through the production cycle but it should be a must own for all KISS fans.
This is turning out to be a KISS Fall!!!:)

Can you elaborate on what those problems were, John?? After all, you were in the studio with Bill and those tapes.
Green with envy,

KISS ALIVE!!! 1975-2000 COMING NOVEMBER 21ST
10/13/2006 KISSONLINE,com KISSONLINE EXCLUSIVE:
KISS ALIVE!!! 1975-2000 - For the first time, KLASSIC KISS FEATURES ALIVE I, ALIVE II AND ALIVE III. And, the NEVER BEFORE ISSUED MILLENIUM CONCERT 1999-2000
KISS’s Alive series represents some of the best live rock recordings ever made. Now all three of those classic albums plus a legendary but previously unreleased performance--the Millennium Concert from New Year’s Eve 1999/2000--come together in the ultimate KISS live box set, the four-CD KISS ALIVE! 1975-2000 (Mercury/UMe), released November 21, 2006.
KISS ALIVE! 1975-2000 includes newly remastered versions of Alive! (1975), Alive II (1977) and Alive III (1993)--all of which charted Top 10--as well as KISS ALIVE: The Millennium Concert (2000), whose tracks have never appeared on CD except for its “Rock And Roll All Nite.”
Fans have waited for the Millennium Concert recording for several years. On December 31, 1999 the reunited KISS, with the original lineup, played BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada to ring in the new millennium before a crowd of 45,000. The career-spanning concert was originally intended to be Alive IV but the KISS+orchestra KISS Symphony: Alive IV appeared in 2003. Meanwhile the Vancouver concert took on mythic status. KISS ALIVE! 1975-2000 finally fills in that gap in KISStory.
Back to the beginning, just two-and-a-half years after the first concert by bassist Gene Simmons, guitarists Paul Stanley and Ace Frehley, and drummer Peter Criss, KISS issued Alive! in 1975. The album won the band its first gold award and first Top 40 hit, the live “Rock And Roll All Nite.” The album also included such quintessential KISS as “Deuce,” “Strutter,” “Hotter Than Hell,” “Black Diamond” and “Cold Gin.”
In 1977, KISSteria was in full effect for the band’s three-night stand in August at the Forum in Los Angeles recorded for Alive II. The double platinum set contained three live sides in addition to a fourth side of new studio recordings.
Among its anthems were “Detroit Rock City,” “Love Gun,” “Calling Dr.Love,” “Christine Sixteen” and “Rockin’ In The USA” as well as the ballad “Beth.” Alive III, came in 1993. The gold album boasted “I Was Made For Lovin’ You,” “Lick It Up” and “God Gave Rock ‘N’ Roll To You II.”
KISS ALIVE! 1975-2000 also adds a pair of bonuses: the single version of “Rock And Roll All Nite” to the Alive II disc and “Take It Off” to Alive III.
Deluxe packaging includes a booklet filled with photos and an informative essay written by noted KISS expert Ken Sharp.
