Having one right now. No, you don't expect gold from McDonald's, but it's a half-block from me and the nearest place to get something like this. And I had an urge for this sort of drink, so I figured I'd try one.

Verdict?

For $3.20, no. It's tasty enough, not too heavy on the ice (as they are with their sweet tea), a bit too much chocolate for my taste but not overwhelming, the coffee part is pretty good. But for $3.20, no. It's a 16 oz. cup for the medium, which is $2.99 plus tax. That's just not enough goods for the money. For $1.99 I might vote different, but for $3 I can get a heaping 32 oz sweet tea (though its mostly ice), a chicken sandwich and fries.

So, pretty good -- though not as good as you'd get from a quality place, obviously, or even as good as Dunkin Donuts -- but the price it too high.

HINT: On Monday's, you can get 8 oz samples for free.

Boy Detective and I went to McDonald's to try these shortly after they launched. We were there around 10 at night and the place was deserted, so it wasn't like they were busy. It took us twenty minutes to get it. The person making them said, "how do you make a mocha?" despite the fact that its three steps were on an illustrated sign right in front of her face.

Not so good.

I guess this can be taken the wrong way, but I would have thought someone with a chocolate tone and an American upbringing would have had some idea of the ingredients in a mocha just from listening to Kanye West. I listen to Kanye and that's how I knew.

I had a regular cappuchino type drink and I threw it away after one sip. It's pure shit.

The Iced Coffee is decent, however. Wish I could have one now.

Community Coffee.

In the breakroom.

Free.

When someone walks into work with a hoidy toidy Frapa-Starbucks I just shake my head.

(Though I do like McDonald's coffee on the weekends.)

Are you sure you're in the breakroom?

Does the bathroom there smell like coffee?

They should take the straw out of their Frappacinno and jam it in your eye for that.

Then pull the straw out with your eyeball on the end of it, insert it back into their tastey, chocolately frozen coffee treat and stir.
