YCDTOT was after my generation, but I latched onto the show while taping Star Trek toons on Nick in the 80's. Lye seemed like sort of a holdover from the misplaced Vaudeville type of actors that would fill out the cast of the Sonny and Cher sort of shows from the early 70's.

I grew up watching this in fourth and fifth grade on Nickelodeon. I had a best friend in school who was obsessed with it. RIP Barth the Cook.

That's sad. For a while, he was the only adult on the show. (Except perhaps for Ziltch.)

My favorite skit was him playing the Cuban executor.

Did he play they camera guy or whoever he was too? I always really liked that guy.

also it's kind of scary to realize he was 84 when he died. I feel old.

I think host Christina McGlade went on to be an exec at Nickelodeon. Alanis became Alanis. Lisa Ruddy got out of show business and married a mortician.
