Only sketchy information so far, but the 3-CD expanded [lilred]Essential 3.0[/lilred] compilation series begun by Sony BMG Legacy last year appears to have been taken over by the Shout Factory label. More to come ...

A 3 cd MTB could be worthwhile If it's limited to the original band.

Yet another 3 disc ELP collection....anyone have any idea what this one will bring us that might not have been available till now? They've mined their vaults already and don't really have anything left sans the European live material exhibited on the '73 Manticore documentary that chronicled their concerts just before and during the release of Brain Salad Surgery... One such song is the live Lucky Man that features Greg Lake on solo acoustic guitar with Keith Emerson chiming in with some very appealing gentle piano that hasn't been performed as such since...

Disc 3 has some really good early 1971 live material, but, with all the ELP material I've got on CD with all titles had in many different CD runs, I'd like to see a quality release of their 1974 California Jam performance that's up there with any live performance/recording from the so-called great live bands such as The Who/Allman Bros/ J Geils and any other great live bands hands down... Hopefully the right people in the right places read such forums as this great one here at IMWAN and will listen to what avid fans are seeking for release...
