I LOVE this show. If you ca find the pre-broadcast pilot, Jeff, grab it. It has a lot of extra material that had to be cut for its initial airing.
I love the direction it is going, though I am watching the Baltimore game tonight (I have a fantasy game depending on the Raven's defense) and going to see Heroes on my band spankin new DVR later.
Guess who just got Dish Network hooked up this weekend!

I like it too. It's quick-moving and global and episodes two and three went out on terrific hooks the both of them. Whilst watching I enjoyed three cups of coffee and a slice of sausage and mushroom pizza.
Well, I've just never liked the idea of people doing stuff because a book from the future sez that they are supposed to. I've seen this type of plot device before, and I always prefer it if they discover that they've already done what the book says.
Otherwise, they are just doing what they are being told to...which changes what they would have done otherwise. The artist, at this point, isn't foretelling the future - he's creating it.
...although, if they ran with that idea (the artist isn't creating illustrations of what will happen because he sees the future, but rather is creating illustrations of what will happen because he is causing these events to take place), it'd be pretty cool. I just don't see that happening.
It must suck waking up and finding out someone has done an autopsy on you.
...of course, not waking up at that point would be even worse...
Yeah, I liked this episode. I'm still in
Best episode yet! It was one of those rare times when I was watching tv and I said aloud "Ahh, dammit NO!" when it was the end. Happens every week while watching Lost too.

Oh god, I think I just got an awful pun. Who's the most heroic character on the show? "Hiro". Uggh. I like the show, but the dialogue and coincidences have me laughing out loud most of the time. And if that pun is intentional, someone needs to be shot.

Here comes Mr. Grumpy Pants....
I like the show, I really do. The storyline is great, I like the writing, the direction and effects have been good....
....BUT....
The acting is just flat out horrible. Other than the guy who plays Hiro and Greg Grunberg, these actors are putting out really terrible performances. Senator Flyboy and his brother Sneer Lad couldn't find a nuance if it fell off the roof above them. Especially Mohinder, the professor's son. Man, that cat just needs to stick to the narration. His incredibly cute sidekick is about the only interesting thing going for his subplot.
The cheerleader's dad is not a bad guy. He's working for the government, who has had a genetic evolution program going on for a while. Their symbol is the one hanging from the neck of the black guy in the bar who puts the mind whammy on Matt the cop. It's also been seen on the Professor's laptop and in Sylar's apartment. Mind Whammy Lad is one of their agents, and so was Sylar until he escaped because he's too powerful.
And Incredibly Cute Sidekick, is actually Sylar. He's got mind control abilities, and can cause his victims to "see" whatever he wants them to.

The only actor who seems bad to me is said incredibly cute sidekick. She sounds like she's reading off cue cards the whole time. The coincidences and dialogue are consistent, so I don't mind either of those.

I'm judging you.
I'll agree with Stripper Lass (or is Stripper Mom a better name...Rob may be right on this one ) not being the greatest character....yet. I'm waiting to see her freak out on-camera.
Yeah, the election stuff is a bit heavy-handed and the actors are lacking nuance...but they are pretty archetypal roles. Being played a little over the top works there.
I just Cheerleader Lass gets a better superpower than super-clumsiness. Yeah, she can heal. It's getting a little tiresome how much she has to, however Let's face it, the lesson learned in her scenes today was

If not for Hiro, I doubt I'd have gotten this far. The cheerleader stuff has that Buffy/Veronica Mars vibe to it, and almost feels like it could be a series onto itself, but not terribly fascinating so far. Find myself glazing over during everyone else's bits.
