I always liked Gwen best. When I was a kid, Mary Jane just seemed sarcastic and mannish to me, whereas Gwen was soft and sweet and good-natured. Then there's the whole white hair thing, which also sold me on Melody from Josie and the Pussycats. Oh, and Sabrina!

Then one day I discovered I'd been reading reprints in Marvel Tales, and Gwen had in fact been long gone. That was... that was bad.

The current Mary Jane book plus Ms. Dunst's swell portrayal in the movies have greatly upgraded MJ in my mind, I'm happy to say.

A friend of mine "touched the third rail" with his Spider-Man fan fiction. His Peter ended up with Mary Jane, but he didn't kill off Gwen Stacy!

Gwen was my first crush. I still prefer her to MJ any day of the week.

I always had this idea for a storyline where Professor Warren and Gwen are still alive. The premise is that he always had his clones do his fighting and kept the real Gwen for himself. It was a clone who died on the bridge and who shtooped Osborn. This would explain the stupid writing that had her fucking him in the first place, explain the weird children of theirs, and could bring some serious soap opera elements to the book.

I'm sure a lot of guys would like it if their Peter ended up with Mary Jane....

Ya know, I have never really read a single Gwen Stacy story to the point of knowing the character. So she must be an ASSHOLE. I am GLAD she is dead.
