Any stories or issues that you keep buying over and over?

(This is a rip on rpj's ICEer thread on completists.)

I have the JLA/JSA Silver Age crossovers in...

Original comics
Reprints in Super-Spectacular and similar Giant formats
Archives
Showcases
Crisis on Multiple Earths TPB's
Digital downloads

I've purchased the O'Neil/Adams GL/GA in every printing it seems...

I've bought the O'Neil/Adams original Ra's al Ghul saga at least four times.

Oh yes. Pick any of the big names for instance Captain America. I would have first read a story with him in a British reprint comic ('76 onwards). That story would no doubt be reprinted again about 5 years later (one of the main reasons I stopped buying the Brit stuff. If I was lucky I would stumble upon the original comic back in my collecting days. Move forward to post 2004 and I will have bought the essential Captain America and the full colour trades that feature much of the 70's stuff.

Not many. I think the most is Watchmen. I bought the single issues, then the trade paperback, and had that for about 15 years until I got the Absolutely edition.

After that, it's Dark Phoenix -- trade paperback and as part of the Essential X-men series -- and Sandman, which I had in trade and upgraded to Absolute.

I almost never do this because I hold onto things I like like a packrat... I bought the TPB of Crisis on Infinite earths even though I had the individual issues for the nicer paper and and I bought the Absolute JLA/Avengers pretty much just to get the pages of the aborted 80's edition that were included as an extra. In both cases I sold the original copies though so I still only have one version of each.

I have a few things in both issue form and trade, though I usually try to give away the issues once I get the trade.

The Long Halloween---original issues, hardcover, and Absolute edition

And if they released a new version on toilet paper, I'd probably pick that up, too.

I rebought the Batman: Tales Of The Demon TPB because they replaced this cover:

With the Neal Adams-drawn cover from the tabloid-sized Limited Collectors Edition from the seventies that was my introduction to these stories:

They also recolored the book, so that's another justification for the re-buy.

I stupidly gave my individual hardcovers of Sandman to a friend when I bought the big Absolutes. I wish I had kept them for reading copies.

I did the same with some Masterworks when I bought the Omnibuses. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Yikes. Those new colors are hideous, especially on the Don Newton stories. That Newton Bronze Tiger story is one of my favorites and it can barely be seen by all of the dark coloring.
