Warmup act was local synth band Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. They were pretty cool, I hadn't heard them before, but they played SXSW this year, and were a good fit.

Not my video, but here's the opener:

My seat was actually better than this guy's...I was 7th row, 4 seats from the center aisle.

For the encore, they started off with an orchestral instrumental medley of the James Bond themes in order, and when they got to AVTAK, Simon came out in a white dinner jacket and sang the first verse with the orchestral version.

This video picks up after the regular version kicks in.

Nick played the whole show seated because he broke his foot last week. He was wearing one of those big boots and walked with a cane.

Pretty predictable setlist, not too heavy on the last album because they're almost done recording the next. No new material unveiled, although they did do a new arrangement of Arcadia's Election Day. They said that no version of that song had ever been played live before.

Wild Boys
Union Of The Snake
Niterunner
Notorious
I Don't Want Your Love
Save a Prayer
Red Carpet Massacre
Election Day
Come Undone
The Reflex
The Chauffeur
Do You Believe In Shame (dedicated to Michael Jackson)
Reach Up For The Sunrise
Ordinary World
Hungry Like The Wolf
Rio
-Break-
View To A Kill
Planet Earth
Girls On Film/Le Freak

No really glaring omissions, except maybe Is There Something I Should Know and New Moon On Monday, but it was cool to hear 2 songs from Big Thing, and The Chauffeur was a real treat.

Great show - the first of only 7 they're doing this year - The next 4 are in California, then Edinburgh and London.

OK, now I'm kind of jealous...They did White Lines and Hold Back The Rain at the San Francisco show. I'd much rather hear those ones than Election Day.

Very cool. I'd like to see them live. They're way before my time, but I do like them. I've seen a lot of their vids on Youtube. I like Save A Prayer, Is There Something I Should Know, Rio and also Come Undone. I'll bet going to one of their shows must be fun. I like fun and energetic bands. Not everyone is a Bob Dylan or Neil Young. Some artists just make fun music that sounds good. And there's nothing at all wrong with that.

Thanks for posting, Hank. :)
