Jeez, what a low-life.
I saw this movie in the theatre when it was released. A girl I was dating at the time wanted to see it(yea, sure), so I went along. It was awful. It wasn't even a good tearjerker.
I think Debbie Boone's version of "You Light Up My Life" is a great record.

yeah, I'm watching Eyewitness News and they just played a clip of Patti Smith singing "You Light Up My Life".  Is that on an album? btw.....the guy who's accused, Joseph Brooks, looks 91 instead of 71. How that guy could lure women to his lair and actually get them to take their clothes off is pretty fishy. He can hardly walk. And looks like death would be something to look forward too. Only in NY kids.

He looks like someone that crawled out of "Tales from the Crypt"
I don't think Patti's version is on a legit album. I saw her perform it live once, but I don't remember where. The track may be on a bootleg.

No, she didn't include it on her covers CD. I saw her perform it at the old Wollman skating rink back in the late 70s, as part of the Dr. Pepper concert series.

It's not on "Twelve".....Patti never released an official recording.
She played it live around 1978-79 (I missed it), and it's on at least 1 live bootleg (vinyl only) album called "You Light Up My Life." (I don't have it).
